My Experience with Marc Jacobs Beauty Prim(Rose) 304 (P)Outliner Lip Liner:
Marc Jacobs released 3 shades in this brand new Poutliner lip pencil for the Spring 2015 collection.
I absolutely love the packaging on this pencil. I love the sleek silver mirror finish pencil with the color of the pencil displayed on the end. These pencils are retractable and twist up, hence no hassle of sharpening.
The shade Prim(rose) is described as a cocoa spice. It is definitely a deep mauve brown but it does have a little bit of pink to it. It is a great MLBB shade for my lips. My lips are naturally quite thin, hence I used this shade to over line my lips to make look bigger; it looks very natural and blends in flawlessly and becomes completely undetectable.
Since this shade is a very natural looking shade, it not clash with most lipsticks which are not super light) that I put over it. I particularly love the effect when I use just this lip liner and pair it with a similar shade of gloss( my Urban decay Naked Lip Gloss in the shade Beso review here)
This pencil does glide on very smooth without any tug; since it has that bit of a gel quality to it. It doesn’t feel as drying on my lips as most other lip pencils, but it works best on exfoliated moisturized lips. When I press my lips together, there isn’t lot stickiness and I do feel a cushion layer of moisture on my lips. It has a full matte finish to it.
It doesn’t accentuate fine lines and dryness on the lips too much but it will surely exaggerate if you have dry patches and chapped lips.
This is a long-wearing pencil. I can easily get 7-8 hours of wear with minimal fading. It does survive through snacking and drinks easily though, it will fade some from inside of the lips. It does help the longevity of lipstick placed on top of it and helps it not bleed.
Overall, I am very impressed with this product. I have previously reviewed the Charlotte Tilbury Lip liners here ; and in comparison to those these Marc Jacobs lip liners are definitely more comfortable on the lips and less drying, but they are not as long wearing as the Charlotte Tilbury ones, which last easily for 8+ hours. They are currently available in 3 shades only, hence there is not a huge variety which is con.
I highly recommend this product.
