My Experience with Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist:

I bought Marc Jacobs Beauty Recover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist based on
recommendations from Sephora girls, and they seemed to absolutely love it. I am not the biggest fan of coconut fragrance, but this mist kind of smells a little like a “holiday,” – that’s all I can say :P, like beach, coconut 😛 It’s actually a very nice fragrance – it’s not like your regular “narial ka tel” kind of a fragrance, which by the way, I cannot stand at all! So, it’s a very hydrating mist, that I sometimes use before applying my makeup and definitely after applying all the makeup. The fragrance of this mist lingers around for half an hour or so before settling down.

It comes in this white plastic bottle, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The only issue with the packaging is the pump. The instructions (on how to use the product) mention to press the pump completely down to get the mist on to the face because it actually comes across as a very fine mist, but if by chance you don’t press it till the bottom, you will get a splotch of mist on your face, like splotch of liquid on your face, something that would totally ruin your makeup! Every time you have to use this, you have to remember to press it down which can be an issue for some, but once you kind of get used to it, you would know how to use it.

I didn’t notice it extending the staying power of makeup. It just adds a nice dewiness to the skin without making the skin shiny. It dries down quickly without breaking down the makeup if you mist it the right way.

This setting mist takes care of messed up powder on your skin, adds a little bit of dewiness to your skin, and it actually feels quite comforting on the skin. I have normal to dry skin, I don’t feel it adds anything extra hydration to my skin or anything, but it includes a lot of active coconut ingredients such as coconut alkanes for long-lasting wear, coconut milk for deep hydration, coconut water for refreshing electrolytes, coconut polysaccharides to help condition skin, and coconut-derived fragrance for a delicate and delicious experience. It is also free of parabens, sulfates, and pthalates.

It’s like a decent, good setting spray, nothing that I would probably repurchase. I think if there is one setting spray that I absolutely love and I would like repurchase all the time is MAC Fix Plus spray. I just like the fragrance and the feel of MAC Fix Plus Spray. Even the bottle of MAC fix plus spray is better than Marc Jacobs one, but if you like the whole coconut fragrance and everything, you could give this a try. It’s decent but nothing that I would repurchase. Like an experience, I would probably pick it up maybe once in a while, but it’s not like I would miss not having it in my kit.

It’s not available in India and it retails for 39 dollars (which is equal to 2500 INR), which is quite expensive for a setting spray to be honest. I think I would probably stick to MAC Fix Plus.
