Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Parfum Review

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Parfum Review

Who doesn’t love a pretty bottle of perfume?  When I first saw a bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy at a store, I automatically put it on my wish list without even smelling the juice inside.  The white, plastic flowers on the Marc Jacobs Daisy cap looked so kitsch, charming, and fun to me.

It made me smile and I very much wanted to see it atop my dresser.  I didn’t get to buy it then, but was gifted with it a few months later, and even better—instead of the regular bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy, I got a wonderful limited edition silver bottle topped with golden flowers.

It sure looks pretty!  Though it looks more mature than the regular edition bottle, this, to me, has a more vintage, womanly vibe.  Perfect for perching on top of a vanity along with other lovely things.

The Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume is in eau de parfum formulation instead of the regular edition’s eau de toilette, so it’s guaranteed to last longer and perhaps have a stronger scent, but aside from that and the bottle, it is still pretty much the same smell.

Product description from Sephora

Enter the world of Daisy: fresh and feminine, with a playful innocence. At the heart of Daisy is a floral with vintage edge: violet. Sophisticated, with a touch of whimsy, violet captures the eclectic, vintage flavor of Marc Jacobs’ feminine, edgy designs. Always elegant, always enchanting – but not too serious – Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet, spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth. Fall in love with Daisy at her most decadent, lasting, and lovely with this concentrated Eau de Parfum version of the much-loved Marc Jacobs scent, housed in a sleek silver bottle.

Its top notes are strawberry, violet leaves, and ruby red grapefruit.  The middle notes are composed of gardenia, violet petals, and jasmine petals.  The base notes, which remain the longest, are musk, white woods, and vanilla.

Mostly what I smell first when I sniff Daisy is the lightness of strawberries.  Not a sweet jam sort of strawberry, but mingling with florals and grapefruit, what I get is something fresh and light—youthful is the word that pops into my head.  Sniffing this, I can easily picture a pretty young girl laughing as runs across a field of flowers.  It smells simple and carefree, nothing complicated at all.  The subtle fruity notes fade as the heart notes emerge, and what I smell then is very floral, which I don’t usually like, but surprisingly, I don’t find it cloying.  The mix of gardenia, jasmine, and violets make for a very feminine heart for the fragrance.  The vanilla and musk make the perfume warm, and slightly sexy.

I find Daisy nice to wear when I’m feeling a bit more feminine than usual.  It also makes me feel flirtatious and sexy, but it’s not too loud or musky that I feel uncomfortable wearing it.  Just the opposite, I find it easy enough to wear during daytime, as well as at night.

Two or three spritzes last about seven hours on my skin. Sometimes I find the scent still lingering when I wake up the following day.  Daisy also just happens to be my husband’s favorite among all my perfumes. He thinks it’s sexy as well!
