My Experience with Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lipstick Crush 610:

The packaging of the lipstick is definitely very classy. In fact, I was eyeing these lipsticks due to their super cute packaging. The lipstick tube comes housed in off-white and black colored cardboard box. The entire product-related information is printed on this box. The lipstick tube is in the form of the chubby lip pencil with a long cap. The tip of the cap is color coded. The mirror finish of the lipstick tube looks nice and quite different, but the metallic finish shows up the fingerprints so much and I have to clean it all the time to maintain its shine and lustre. The shade name is written on a small sticker at the base of the tube.

The lipstick bullet is like a jumbo crayon. It has a regular twist-up base that works pretty smoothly. Overall, the packaging is just amazing but the con that I find with this packaging is the shape of the bullet. It gets really difficult to get a sharp line with this bullet once the tip gets blunt, so I prefer using a lip brush for application rather than applying it directly from the bullet.

“Crush” is a subtle orange color and it’s a pretty color, great for summers. It is not too bright or neonish, so a lot of skin tones can carry it well. It looks so beautiful on the lips and brightens up my complexion. This shade is flattering on fair to medium skin tones. The lipstick is nice and matte. Though, it does not have that ultra matte finish but still looks soft velvety matte on the lips.

This lipstick does not contain any shimmer or glitter in it. rThe pigmentation of the lipstick is quite decent. It gives close to opaque coverage in a single swipe. The color looks perfectly opaque and intense in just two to three swipes. However, it is quite difficult to build up the color using a lip brush as the color gets deposited in very thin layers and looks very sheer, that’s a bit time consuming as well. This lipstick sets to a nice matte finish which feels comfortable on the lips initially, but in later hours of the wear time, it turns out to be slightly drying.

The texture of the lipstick is thick and quite creamy but it’s not super smooth. It causes a little tug on the lips during application, so you would have to apply it on well-prepped lips, else it will cling on to dry patches and highlight them badly.

The formula is not really moisturizing or hydrating and it makes my lips dry at the end of the day, so it is better to properly nourish the lips before using the lipstick. The lipstick does not smear or feather even upon layering. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips either, but the formula transfers a bit.

The longevity of the lipstick is somewhere around 5-6 hours and fades away gradually. The lipstick is non staining and easy to remove, but it does not survive meals. It fades away evenly from the lips and hence requires a reapplication.
