My Experience with Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate:

Packaging:  All of Marc Jacobs beauty products have the most high class, sophisticated packaging. This foundation is no different. It comes in a heavy frosted glass bottle. I do not like the application mechanism in which you have to swipe the foundation directly on the face with the help of the applicator as I find it unhygienic to dip the same wand which touched my skin back in the bottle. I would have preferred a pump dispenser.

Consistency:  This foundation has a rich texture. You do have to shake it prior to using for the pigmentation to mix evenly. It is not too thick, but it is not runny at all.

Coverage:  This is an absolute “no-joke” full coverage foundation – a little goes a looong way . I need barely one dab per cheek to cover the entire lower part of half of my face – it is that strongly pigmented. If you are someone who prefers light or even medium coverage, this product is not for you, but on the other hand, if you have major skin discoloration to hide, this foundation will get the job done and some more. One minute you have discoloration and next second, you will have the most amazing and flawless-looking skin.

Application:  This foundation has a very quick dry time. It sets within seconds, hence it can get a bit tricky to apply this. You have to do small areas of your face at a time and blend it out as fast as you can or it will stick to the area where you dabbed and look patchy. I found the best method to apply this foundation is with a beauty blender/ sponge.

Finish:  This foundation has a liquid-to-powder finish. It looks incredibly natural on the skin and does not look mask like. There is powdery matte finish to the skin without any shine.

Shade:  This foundation comes in a wide array of shades, about 20-22 shades I believe, but it does lack some variation in undertone. I got the shade “Beige Medium 34,” which is described as light-medium w/ peach undertones which still is too yellow for me, but this was the only shade match for me, hence I can make it work.

Feel and Look on the skin:  This foundation is incredibly lightweight on the skin. You can hardly feel any makeup on your skin which is an astounding quality for a full-coverage foundation like this. It looks and feels best as a thinnest layer on the skin.

Since this foundation is so full coverage when applied over your full face, it can make everything look very monotone. You will need to create some dimension on your face with use of contour and highlighting.

Now, coming to little aspects which I do not like about this foundation. Since it is a liquid-to-powder finish foundation, it is not forgiving on dry skin. I can see it clinging and accentuating my dry patches hence I do have to exfoliate and moisturize heavily before using this foundation. For those with dry skin, it will help to mix a drop or two of facial oil in this foundation to help it sit better. It is also not forgiving on fine lines and wrinkles. Since it does adhere to the skin so strongly, it can get a bit inflexible, hence it does crack on the part of your face which moves a lot which; for me, it is my smile lines and frown lines on my forehead. With a silicone primer underneath, it did reduce the intensity of the creasing, but did not eliminate it. I do not have problematic pores and I did not find it sinking or accentuating them.

Staying Power:  This foundation is literally bullet proof. It needs no setting with powder post application. I wore this for 9 hours and it looked as impeccable as it did when freshly applied. There was absolute no fading, no reduction in coverage, no transferring. There was no shine peeking through. Truly impressive!

Fragrance:  I do not detect any scent.

Overall, I do think this foundation is more suited for oily/combination and normal skin. Since this is an oil-free foundation which sets to a complete matte and budge-proof finish, I do think this foundation is more suitable for oily, combination to normal skin types. For oily skin, your natural oils on the skin will help balance out the drying nature of this foundation and you may not encounter the cons of it clinging to dry patches and cracking. For dry skin, I do think this foundation can work for you, but do proceed with caution with using as little as you can and moisturize heavily prior to use.

But for those who love their full-coverage foundations which demonstrate super impressive staying power, this foundation is by far the best one I have tried in that category. I am impressed and will recommend it.
