Marc Jacobs Splash Rain Eau De Toilette Review

Marc Jacobs Splash Rain Eau De Toilette

Splash Rain Eau De Toilette
For the summer of 2012, Marc Jacobs prepared new additions to the Splash fragrance collection under the name of Tropical Splash, bringing back an old favorite and two new ones. Rain, from 2006, returns in a new format, along with the new releases Kumquat and Hibiscus.

Rain is a watery-flowery fragrance that evokes a summer downpour, created by Laurent Le Guernec. The top notes are wild strawberries, cypress and clementine. The heart brings scents of white orchid, passion flower and sunflower, while the base caresses with sensual musk, amber, teak and tree moss.

Marc Jacobs Splash Rain
Review of Marc Jacobs Splash Rain EDT: The perfume comes in a simple, yet elegant transparent rectangular bottle with a tallish black cap. Though it is a 100 ml bottle, it felt quite heavy. The product itself is light blue in color and the simplicity of the entire packaging reflects what the perfume stands for – a fresh, clean, aquatic fragrance. The packaging is quite a detour from the Marc Jacobs Daisy range, whose bottles had pretty details.

Here is the breakup of the various notes of the fragrance:
description
Top notes: wild strawberry, clementine, cypress
Heart: orchid, passion flower, sunflower
Base: amber, teak wood, moss, musk

As soon as you spray it, the first thing this perfume reminds you of is water, and then flowers. The smell is refreshing with notes of some aquatic flower. The best part of this perfume is that it is quite long lasting, and the scent still lingers on my clothes the next day. It doesn’t have that synthetic feel, unlike some other fragrances, and feels quite fresh and clean instead. ‘Rain’ is the perfect name for this. You would hardly feel like you’re wearing perfume, it just smells like you’re extra clean and fresh. Obviously, it’s a great pick for right after a bath; it’ll lift your spirits and make you feel like the scent is from you and not from a bottle.

Furthermore, this isn’t a perfume that cries out for attention, it’s mild and you can spray it on confidently, without fear of asphyxiating anyone!!

This is part of the Splash 2012 collection which also features these new variants:

Marc Jacobs Splash Kumquat
Marc Jacobs Splash Hibiscus

Pros of Marc Jacobs Splash Rain EDT

1. Packaging reflects sensibilities of the product
2. Convenient 100 ml bottle
3. Long lasting fragrance
4. Mild scent, not overpowering
5. Feels fresh and clean, just like in the product claim
6. Not very intense, unlikely to cause problems for people with allergies

Cons of Marc Jacobs Splash Rain EDT:

1. Limited Edition, so availability might be a problem
2. Simply packaged bottle might be a turn off for some

Verdict: Love it!! For one thing, it feels so refreshing and then it also lasts quite long. Like I mentioned, perfect perfume for after a nice shower, you’ll feel so light and fresh!!
