My Experience with Marc Jacobs Starlet Style Eye Con Plus Shadow No 7
These are gorgeous palettes in Marc Jacobs Beauty line. They have 7 eyeshadows and are available in various textures and finishes in their line. Out of the 8 palettes I picked up a rather neutral palette. It’s called Starlet and it has a gorgeous set of metallic neutral shades.
- muted metallic taupe with goldeny frost to it.
- a frosty pale beige color with copper specks. Love using it for inner corners.
- a dark chocolate brown color with copper metallic finish. It’s my favourite color from the palette.
- an orengey copper color with gold metallic finish to it. I find it really difficult to use.
- a metallic greenish toned gold. Great for Indian weddings or parties.
- a true metallic silver
- a metallic smokey grey color.
So for me this palette is sort of a mixed bag. Some colors I find it really difficult to pull off (orange and gold) and some colors I can’t stop using them ( shimmery beige, dark brown, smokey grey). This is an all metallic palette so in most cases you would have to combine it with a palette that includes matte colors as well. But the quality and the richness of eyeshadows is so class apart, it makes you fall in love with the colors every time you use it.
The eyeshadows are suppper pigmented. All of them. Most of them give a super rich color pay off with just one stroke. The texture is buttery and smooth. There is no fall out whatsoever.
They barely have a fall out. The staying power is incredible with primer underneath. I have never faced any creasing or fading of eyeshadows with this whenever I have used them. They blend in like a dream.
The packaging is glossy, black, sleek and lightweight. Makes it super travel friendly. But since on its own the palette never cuts out, I mostly have to carry a matte palette as well with me. I would have really loved if the palette had a mix of textures. That out have been an ideal.
Comes with a black pouch and a very shady finger-tip size applicator. Honestly, the little applicator was a joke. I have misplaced it. I mean with the price tag such as this, a lovely brush could have been such a nice addition.
That said. I think it is a gorrrrgeous palette when it comes to metallic shades. I have not seen this kind of intensity and this good a texture in metallic eyeshadows in other brands. They are packed with a metallic punch, if I could put it that way.
Overall, highly recommended if you are a fan of metallic eyeshadow or want to include a few in your collection.
All Marc Jacobs makeup is cruelty free.

And here’s the EOTD : Used shimmery beige for inner corners and metallic brown for the lids.
