Recently, I picked up some shades from the newly-released Marc Jacobs lip creme range. What prompted me to buy these was the fact that unlike traditional liquid lipsticks, these are actually lip cremes which promise long wear and hydration. This review will be on Marc Jacobs liquid lip creme in the shade “Truth or Bare.”
A hydrating, eight-hour wear, liquid lipstick in a range of bold, full-coverage nudes.
What it does: Lasting wear meets hydration for a completely new liquid lipstick sensation with Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème. Enjoy the indulgent creaminess of this lipstick—now available in a luxurious liquid formula that glides onto lips so that they stay looking plump and full all day long. Formulated with Brazilian cupuaçu butter and collagen, the rich, creamy texture always feels cushiony, and lips never appear lined or cracked. Featuring a range of bold nudes and a delicate vanilla scent, each stroke of the velvety doe-foot applicator delivers unexpected, full, nude coverage with a subtle, satin sheen. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
My Experience with Marc Jacobs Truth Or Bare 454 Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme:
Packaging: Marc Jacobs is known for its ultra sleek, modernist aesthetics and following the theme of most MJ products, this lip creme comes in a glossy black tube with reflective silver detailing.
The shade is visible through a tiny window on the tube which I though was a nice touch to help differentiate amongst your collection. The wand is a standard doe foot which I found to be very precise in lining and filling the lips and it holds a decent amount of product.
Consistency: This lip creme is a luxuriously thick and creamy consistency yet it is not heavy. It spreads evenly on the lips.
Pigmentation: I was very very impressed with the pigmentation. It delivers full opaque color in a single layer. There is no streaking whatsoever.
Shade: Truth or Bare is a beautiful medium pink color. It will be that ever flattering shade for most skin tones and a MLBB shade for some. It is such an easy shade to carry and pairs well with everyday looks. While I don’t love this shade as much its sister “Shush Blush.” It still ranks pretty good in my books. If you are looking for a perfect pinky shade, this will be it.
Finish: Initially applied, the finish is quite glossy, but after an hour or two, it settles to a satin finish.
Feel on lips and Staying Power: This is not the kind of liquid lipstick that settles to a completely dry and is transfer proof. I would say it’s about 75-80% transfer proof with a moderate amount of slip on the lips. It remains hydrating throughout the wear time and my lips never ever feel uncomfortable with on. There is mild settling in the lines which is only noticeable from up close. I notice slight fading after 6-7 hours with snacking and drinking breaks, but overall, most of the color still remained intact. I do need to reapply after a full meal.
Fragrance: It has a mild vanilla scent which I don’t find bothersome.
Overall, Marc Jacobs lipsticks have always impressed me in the past, in fact, Le Marc lipstick formula is one of my top favorites and I am happy to add these lip creme on that list as well. I highly recommend this product.

Cons of Marc Jacobs Truth Or Bare 454 Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme:
