I am not a false lashes type of a girl, so I am always hunting for good mascaras. I have been listening so many good things about Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara that I finally went ahead and bought it. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right on to the review:

My Experience with Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara:

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara comes housed in a bulky black tube with Marc Jacobs engraved on the tube. The wand is an hourglass-shaped wand. Overall, it looks very simple and it’s a classy packaging.

Looking at the wand, it reminded me a lot of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, but the bristles on this are a lot shorter and softer than Too Faced one. At times, the wand on the Too Faced used to poke me in the eye, but I did not have any such issue with this Marc Jacobs mascara.

The thing that I love the most about this mascara is the color. I know I might sound crazy, but this is the blackest mascara I have ever used. I love how dark this mascara is. This gives insane volume, length and lift to the eyelashes. I don’t even feel the need to go for false lashes when I apply this mascara. This makes your eyelashes so thick ,voluminous and full that you will feel that you have false lashes on.

The formula is dry yet creamy at the same time. You don’t have to wait for long to add the second coat, which generally you have to do with regular wet formula mascaras. The wand really makes it easier to get to the smaller lashes and it’s really easy to get to the base of the lashes.

It holds every lash and coats it evenly. This mascara doesn’t irritate or cause any redness to the eyes. This mascara also doesn’t clump or smudge through the day. It is definitely not waterproof, which might bother someone if you are paying $26, but I absolutely love full and fluttery lashes. If you love dramatic lashes, go and buy this. I use mascara more for night-time parties to get that extra oomph on my eyes.
