Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap Review

Hey IMBBians,

It is raining like crazy outside and all I am doing is playing games/making new songs playlists/cleaning out my room and other random things. I have also been trying out the DIYs posted on IMBB by various lovely authors.  So, let’s get started with our review 🙂

My Experience with Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap:

I am a huge fan of MB products. Most of them I use become my staples. So, I got their body wash. It comes in a typical MB packaging, very simple bottle with a unique top which opens as shown in the picture.

The consistency is liquid but not too runny. The color is amber yellow as you can see through the transparent bottle. Now the smell, I will be honest and say I was not really a great fan of the smell when I tried it for the first few times, but then the product mentions papaya and grapefruit, so it is kind of a mixture of both the scents I am guessing but definitely it smells fresh and clean. It is not overly fruity which is great.

Now, I need approximately less than half of a coin-sized amount per usage. It lathers up really well when you use it with a loofah. It cleans really well but doesn’t make you feel dry and stretchy. It makes your skin so soft and smooth.

Coming to why this body wash is special, well, as you would have seen in the contents, it contains papaya and the good old AHA extracts. It is no secret that these are amazing for clearing up your skin. I mean we all buy costly exfoliators and anti-acne stuff for our face but I feel it is really important to take equally good care of your skin all over the body. To the people who suffer from back acne, this is going to be a blessing and this is my sister’s personal experience. For me it has really helped with the skin on my elbows and knees which otherwise can be rough. It really gives you an evened out complexion on your body with continued usage. This is now better than my all-time favorite St. Ives Apricot Scrub, which I had considered my HG at some point of time.

Pros of Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap:

  • Simple unique packaging.
  • Foams up well and smells decent.
  • Softens and smoothens out skin.
  • Not the least bit drying.
  • Helps with break-outs on your body which sometimes may go unnoticed and give you trouble later.
  • Suits all skin types.
  • A little bit goes a very long way.
  • Comes from a very trusted brand of skin care products. The ingredient list is short and sweet.

Cons of Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap:

  • I have to write about SLS here, which many of us think is bad for us. I would say it is not that bad. It is a foaming agent and trusted companies like these use it in amounts, which for sure is not going to be harmful for your skin. There are views in favor and against it. You can take it from me that SLS is not going to harm your skin. Of course it doesn’t do anything good for you either but as I said its merely a foaming agent.

5/5.
