Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 15 Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hello dear IMBB readers! Hope you all are doing great!

Last week, I had reviewed Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30. I have also purchased the SPF 15 version for rainy days, and for the time when I am indoors. I had read in several articles, how very high usage of SPF is not that great for skin, and also that we should mix our SPFs to prevent resistance (meaning skin would get used to the product and would stop responding to it). So, to cut a long story short, I got the day moisturizer in both SPF 30 and 15 versions.  Let’s see how the SPF 15 version has fared for me.

Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer

Price:
INR 1900 for 59 ml.

Product Details:
Adequate hydration is essential even for oily, problem skin. Mario Badescu’s easily absorbed lightweight lotion contains oil-free emollients and sun protection all in one. Protects against acne scarring and moisture loss without clogging pores or causing breakouts. Like the Oil-Free Moisturizer, this lotion has the same benefits for oily and problem skin with added daily sun protection to keep scarring and discoloration to a minimum. After cleansing and toning, apply before sun exposure and daily all over face, avoiding eye area. Re-apply frequently to maintain protection and after perspiring or swimming. May be used under make-up or alone.

My Experience with Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 15:

This lotion too comes in a squeeze bottle with a pipette spout like opening, just like the SPF 30 version. I like that this packaging helps to preserve the antioxidants, but I hate that after a while, I have no control on the amount of product that comes out. Fortunately, the redeeming quality is this soft plastic bottle which is sturdy and travel friendly.

The texture of this oil-free lotion is like soft cream. It is, in my opinion, a shade lighter than the SPF 30 version…or maybe it’s a psychological thing: P

Anyway, just like the SPF 30 version, it is not at all greasy. Your face will glow like the moon in daylight, like literally 😛

The one thing that I especially like about this lotion is the “no white cast” formula. I must tell you, it is such a relief!! You don’t have to wait like ten minutes for it to get absorbed into the skin. You are good to go, even to slather makeup on.

Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer

This is a very suitable lotion for those with overtly sensitive skin. Ideally, I would recommend it to those with normal to combination skin types. In fact, the SPF 30 lotion, this would suit even those with oily skin.

SPF 15 is not much useful under direct sunlight and broad daylight, but it is bang for the buck for times when sun exposure is light.

Summing up its pros and cons for you:

Pros of Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 15:

  • Non-greasy texture.
  • Sinks in quickly.
  • Imparts a lovely glow.
  • Hygienic packaging.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Did not break me out.
  • Does not leave any white cast behind.

Cons of Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 15:

  • Not a heavy duty sun screen.
  • Expensive.

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5

Final Verdict:
It’s a pretty decent product. I would definitely repurchase it as it suited my skin. If you are on the market for a lightweight yet effective day cream, this is definitely worth considering!!
