I have another eyeshadow review for you today – again from Autograph. This shade is called “Dark Blue.” Let’s find out more details about this one.

Packaging: The product comes packaged in a square black compact with a sponge applicator. There is a nice mirror inside. All in all, a decent packaging and fairly easy to travel with because the compact has a secure closure. The eyeshadow compact comes packaged in a black cardboard box.
My Experience with Marks and Spencer Autograph Pure Colour Mono Eyeshadow – Dark Blue:
Shade: The shade “Dark Blue” is a deep blue with minute micro shimmer. With a name like Dark Blue, one would expect a really inky deep blue color with a lot of depth. However, when you swatch it, the shade does not come off that deep blue; however, it can definitely be built up to look like the color in the pan which is nice and deep. The colour is really pretty, but I’m sure it’s dupe-able. It’s not really unique.
Texture: The texture is quite smooth and creamy. It blends easily. I did not see too much fallout with this one. The shade transfers easily onto the lid. You can do a nice vibrant smokey eye with it or use it to darken the outer V.
Staying Power: Again, this shade too does not work too well without a primer. Without a primer, on my oily lids, this turned a bit into mush in 4-4.5 hours. With a good primer, it lasted for good 6-6.5 hours.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is good. It does seem a bit sheer in a single swatch – not too sheer, but not really the colour in the pan. However, it was fairly easy to get the colour in the pan with re-application. I did not really need to dig in again and again to build up the color. It translated easily from the pan to the lid. You can get good control on how you want to build the colour onto the lid.
The applicator is like a normal sponge applicator. It will help you to tap the eyeshadow onto the lid but will not really help with any blending skills.
Pros of Marks and Spencer Autograph Pure Colour Mono Eyeshadow – Dark Blue:
- An interesting medium deep blue with barely-there micro shimmer.
- No fragrance.
- Soft, creamy texture.
- Decent pigmentation.
- Blends easily.
- Decent wear time – with primer.
- Does not irritate my eyes.
- Hypoallergenic.
- Paraben free.
- Cruelty free.
- Good packaging – very sturdy and classy looking.
Cons of Marks and Spencer Autograph Pure Colour Mono Eyeshadow – Dark Blue:
- Definitely needs a primer. For oily lids, this will be a no go without a primer.
- Definitely not long lasting on its own.

Overall Thoughts: I was surprised how fine and creamy the shadows were and how well they swatched. However, considering that the colour is dupe-able and the longevity is non-descript, you don’t really NEED this. It’s okay to work with, but not a must-have shade.
