This review is on the La Maison de Senteurs Gardenia Rose Hand Cream. I found this product in the Marks and Spencer’s beauty exclusive showroom in Mumbai. I was surprised to see an entire range of bath and body products, skincare and even cosmetics. Feeling unsure about what to try – I decided to pick up this hand cream. Let’s see how this one performed.
INR 499 for 75ml
Le Maison de Senteurs – Gardenia Rose – Hand Cream
A nourishing hand cream blended with rich shea butter to leave hands feeling soft and smooth. To be enjoyed, shared and never forgotten. A nourishing hand cream blended with a delicate floral fragrance, including oil of gardenia to calm and unwind.

The product comes packaged in a plastic tube with a flip cap. The small opening of the tube allows control over the product being dispensed out. This is a 75 ml tube (as compared to the 30 ml L’occitane travel tubes). However, I find it travel friendly. The packaging itself is fuss free. The flip cap is fairly tight that it wouldn’t suddenly open up in the bag.
My Experience with Marks and Spencer La Maison de Senteurs Gardenia Rose Hand Cream:
For reference, my skin type (except for my face) is extremely dry. Being a mom of 2 little ones, my hands are perpetually in and out of water. Meaning, that not only do they keep losing moisture, I seldom get time to stop and nourish them with a hand cream. So hand creams are more of a pampering when stepping out or before sleeping – if I can mange to remember using one.
The hand cream is extremely light weight. Though it contains shea butter, it’s very light and spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly. The good thing is that it leaves no residue behind. I think this is important in today’s time when you might want to quickly apply this and get on with work – which more often than not revolves around a computer. Greasy, sticky fingers and hands are just not an option.
The cream has a fragrance of soft, delicate roses which lingers for a while before it dissipates. It’s very soothing and calming to the senses. Just like the Lavender cream from L’occitane – this one provides light hydration, which works well for the hot/humid weather in Mumbai. I think the product should work really well for the working professional. The tube is easy to carry, not too jazzy to be lying around on your desk. It has a decent price point and gets absorbed quickly without leaving any residue.
To sum this up for you –
Pros of Marks and Spencer La Maison de Senteurs Gardenia Rose Hand Cream:
• Extremely lightweight
• Absorbs quickly
• Spreads easily
• No white cast at all
• No sign of greasiness or residue left behind
• Does not stain
• Has a lovely, soothing fragrance of soft and delicate roses
Cons of Marks and Spencer La Maison de Senteurs Gardenia Rose Hand Cream:
• Nothing really
I kind of liked this product from M&S. I won’t mind picking this up again. It works fairly well and ticks almost all the boxes for me. Is it a must-have? Not really. But if you do buy it, you will not regret it either.
