Marks and Spencer Nature’s Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel Review

Hey lovely ladies,

This is probably my last bath product review for a very long time. I am so through with new shower gels! I don’t think I’ll be buying a bath product for the next 2 years. 😉 Anyway, let us get on with this one.

My Experience with Marks and Spencer Nature’s Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel:

My standard skin type information – though I have combination to oily, dehydrated facial skin, I have fairly dry and dehydrated body skin. I hate repeating myself in each review but it is for the benefit of anyone who lands here from a Google search.

I do not have an HG shower gel or body wash. So, nothing to compare things to. I buy shower gels purely on the basis of their fragrance, use them and pick up something new, the next time.

Please note that the product under review contains SLS, which I know can be an immediate NO for some people since it can be drying for the skin.

Packaging:
The packaging is quite simple. The product comes in a squeezable plastic tube. There was no seal. However, the store ensured that they put a plastic tape on the lid of each of the shower gels I picked. Which kind of made me think there must have been some incident/complaints regarding the cap opening and product leakage. It is a fairly large tube – with 250ml of product and squeezable – so I guess it’s safe to say – do not travel with it.

Marks and Spencer Nature's Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel Back

Fragrance:
The fragrance of this one is that of artificial peaches – I do not smell the almond in it. I guess, most people would not know the fragrance of almond oil, however, we Indians know of Badam Rogan Josh right from birth – some know it while in Mom’s womb too! 😉 So…anyway! The fragrance is distinctly fruity and reminds of peaches. I haven’t tried any Too Faced Peach product to be able to tell you if the fragrance isn’t too potent or strong and does not transfer much to the skin. It is nice and unobtrusive.

Texture:
The product is quite runny. It is easy to dispense from the tube. Considering the size of the tube and how runny it is do be careful or you will end up with way more than what you need. It spreads easily on the body and lathers well. Post washing off, it does not seem to leave a residue on the body.

Application:
The application is simple – you can use it directly or with a loofah. It will generate a lot of foam.

Efficacy:
As I mentioned earlier, the shower gel lathers well. It leaves my skin feeling cleansed, supple and smooth without any residue or any feeling of stretchiness. The fragrance does not last too long on the body. The fragrance can be built up by layering using body lotion, body mist, body powder, deo, etc with the same fragrance. The brand does have different products in the same fragrance to enable you to do so. I do need to ensure I use a body butter/lotion/oil post my bath coz my body is extremely dry and dehydrated.

Marks and Spencer Nature's Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel Swatch

Point to Note:
The addition of peach and almond extracts in the product does not make this variant drastically different from the others. I did not feel this one to be any more nourishing to the body than the other variants.

To sum this up for you:

Pros of Marks and Spencer Nature’s Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel:

• A fragrant shower gel.
• Gentle on the skin – did not leave it feeling stretchy.
• Spreads easily.
• Lathers well.
• Does not leave a residue post washing off.
• Did not irritate my skin.
• Foams nicely.
• Did not dry my skin further or aggravate the dryness – in summers.
• Not tested on animals.
• Paraben-free.

Cons of Marks and Spencer Nature’s Ingredients Peach and Almond Shower Gel:

• The fragrance does not transfer onto the skin.
• Has SLS.

IMBB Rating: 3.75/5

I enjoyed this variant. I love the fruity burst of fragrance in my bath. It does make the shower experience more enjoyable. Still, not a product I would come back to. I would probably try something else once this gets over.
