Marks & Spencer Floral Collection Gardeners’ Basil and Lemon Balm Hand Lotion
My eternal love with dry hands continues and hence I have to have hand lotion/cream/balm in my stash. The hot and humid climate here is a big factor that deters me from picking up thick balms and hence I picked up this in lotion variant. One sniff at the store and I knew I have to get this. The fragrance is very important to me when it comes to lotions and shower gels as I have a very sensitive nose. Read on to know how it fared.

My experience with Marks & Spencer Floral Collection Gardeners’ Basil and Lemon Balm Hand Lotion
Packaging – the lotion comes in a plastic bottle packaging which is sturdy and dark brown in color. The bottle is translucent and the pump is black in color. The details about the product has been mentioned on the body sticker. The pump is functional and the quantity dispensed can be controlled. Considering the size it is not really travel friendly and thus has to be transferred to a mini bottle for trips. Other than that there is no complaint regarding the packaging. The label looks soothing and sophisticated.
Texture – though my hands require intense moisture yet I preferred to pick up the lotion mainly due to the ever warm climate here in Chennai. And am so glad that I did so. The texture of this lotion is awesome. On initial application the lotion feels cool and spreads like a water based product. the spreading is so nice that half a pump is enough to moisturize the palms. The lotions takes less than a minute to settle and get absorbed in the skin. There is absolutely no greasy feeling and it is non-sticky as well.

Fragrance – as the name mentions, it smells citrusy. The good part about the smell is that it settles in an hour or so giving a warm base note. It is difficult to explain but the lotion smells strong and mild ant the same time. Initially it smells like you are sipping a fresh lime soda and after sometime it has a mature warm woody smell (of basil I think)
Staying power – the lotion keeps the skin moisturized for 10 hours minimum. I generally apply it during bed time and my skin stays super soft till my shower next day, after which I reapply. I can vouch after using it for last few days that my skin has improved and is touchably smooth. I have dry patches near the elbow which have almost vanished after using the lotion religiously last few days.
Overall HG product considering the quality, quantity and price. I am looking forward to trying more stuff from this range.
