MaskerAide Washbeautyco. Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge Review

Hello sweeties,

Konjac sponges definitely created a buzz in the town ever since they entered because they seemed so damn unique. And after a long time, I finally got my hands on one from Maskeraide. They had two variants – one in charcoal and one was a regular one, and I was definitely lured to pick up the charcoal one. I found this one apt since I have combination skin that becomes extremely oily during summers, and my skin is acne-prone too. So, let’s move on with the detailed review.

MaskerAide Washbeautyco. Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge Review

Price:
Rs 850 (Yeah dude, it’s expensive!)

Product Description:
Get back to basics with the bamboo charcoal konjac sponge to remove excess oil and bacteria to get you fresh and clean. Simple!

Here’s How to Use Me:
1. Soak me in water until jelly-like and gently squeeze out excess water.
2. Massage and buff me all over your face in circular motion. Use me naked or with a small amount of your favourite cleanser.
3. When you are done, just rinse me and gently squeeze the water out.
4. Don’t forget to hand me to dry or keep me in a dry spot. I’ll shrink and harden when I’m dry, but just soak me again and I’ll be all ready for you again, promise!

Just a Reminder…..
I don’t like germs and bacteria. To sterilise, pop me in boiling water or in a bowl of water in the microwave for 60 seconds. I’ll last 2 months if you take care of me.

My Experience with MaskerAide Washbeautyco. Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge:

Konjac sponges seemed very different to me, something that I had never tried before. Hence I picked this up to see how this little sponge works. Initially, when I got this I got super confused about its usage. But, after using it for a few weeks now, I finally got to know how amazingly this works.

Packaging:
The sponge comes in a blue pack with the all the instructions and name written over it. The packaging is great to keep the sponge while travelling because it is made up of super thick plastic. I love the description given by them, it’s so cute! It feels like the sponge is talking to me. 😛 Now coming to the Konjac sponge, it is charcoal grey in colour which depicts the bamboo charcoal variant. The size is medium and fits nicely in my palm.

It is as hard as a pumice stone initially, and I hold it under the tap water to make it soft and jelly-like. It soaks up the water for a minute and becomes spongy, definitely like jelly. After using it, I store it on my shelf in the shower and it takes somewhere around 1 and a half day to harden up once again.

Quality and Feel on the Skin:
I think it is definitely expensive for 850 bucks because it is clearly mentioned in the description that it won’t last me more than 2 months. I wish it survived a little longer. And it is surely true because the sponge has started to tear up from the base in just 15 days. The sponge is extremely soft and smooth on the face. It is like a baby loofah which is extremely gentle and harmless. I rub it portion by portion all over my skin slowly. It can be used with a cleanser, but it takes me forever to squeeze out the foamy cleanser from this sponge, hence I use it without any cleanser.

Results:
Initially I did not understand what the sponge did for 2-3 days. But after a week, I could see very visible results on my skin. It immediately cleanses away all the excess oil and dirt from my skin and it’s actually doing this better than the cleansers. My face turns matte by rubbing this all over and it also becomes free of all traces of make-up. It has brought a change to my complexion since it looks a lot brighter and clearer now.

My skin’s texture has also become even and smooth. After I started using this, I haven’t seen a single pimple popping out which is surprising for my acne-prone skin. This also means that it is actually cleaning my skin from deep within. My skin looks very fresh after using this and at times it is really okay if I don’t use a cleanser.

Overall:
I feel it does work amazingly for the skin and if you are ready to pay the cost, then go for it!

Would I Repurchase/Recommend MaskerAide Washbeautyco. Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge?
Yes, I do recommend it if you can shell out this much amount because it works nicely to improve the skin. But it is not at all a necessity and wears off pretty soon, so take a wise decision. I am not sure whether I would get it again or not.
