Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner Review

Gracious greetings to precious people! (Wow that sounds nice!)

I am sure we all keep hunting for that HG shampoo plus conditioner duo to tackle our hair issues. I like how Matrix keeps on coming up with innovative ranges targeting different problems. I had used Matrix Opti-black Shine Enhance Conditioner which was quite good, and thought of picking up this conditioner. The Ultra Hydra Source shampoo seemed a good buy, so I got the conditioner from the same range. Let’s jump to the review of Matrix Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner.

Product Description:
Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner nourishes dry, thick hair. A gentle product to smoothen hair and provide it with intense hydration and nourishment, its unique ingredients lock moisture in the hair strands. Specially formulated to protect your hair against untimely breakage and unnecessary tangling, its ultra-moisturizing formulation provides intense conditioning to dull, dry and dehydrated hair.

Packaging: The white and violet packaging oozes simplistic charm. I think it’s a minimal packaging that looks sophisticated. The white tube has a flip open purple cap, and all the product details are written on the body. It shuts securely and is travel friendly.

My Experience with Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner:

Matrix products always have high expectations! In fact, I keep on looking for their new launches.  The conditioner has a pleasant smell, which is mild and doesn’t last for five minutes even. I would have loved to get a whiff of the fragrance, but no, that doesn’t happen.
Packaging

The consistency is creamy, and due to this texture, you can spread it evenly on your hair. I apply it on hair strands for say 5 minutes, waiting for the boost of hydration to take place.

But ladies, I haven’t found any intense hydration. In fact, I feel the moisture it gives to strands doesn’t come up to even Dove Intense Repair and Tresemme Keratin Smooth range. It delivers what an average conditioner does. My hair needs lesser effort to detangle (no, they aren’t perfectly tangle free), and my very rough hair looks a bit tamed down.

The effect hardly stays on for a couple of days, and applying a bit more weighs down my hair. There is no softness or extra shine to my hair, which is what I expect from a good conditioner.  I am disappointed by this conditioner, because Ultra Hydra Source seemed promising and I was hoping to derive some extra nourishment for my parched strands.

Pros of Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner:

  • Attractive, travel-friendly packaging.
  • Pleasant smell.
  • Economical.
  • Hair needs lesser efforts to detangle.
  • Creamy texture.

Cons of Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner:

  • Fragrance doesn’t last,
  • No softness or bounce.
  • Claims to providing ultra-moisturization are wrong.
  • Weighs down hair of more is applied.

Would I Repurchase Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Aloe Hydrating Conditioner?
No, I am disappointed!
