Matrix Opti Black Professional Shine Enhance Conditioner Review

Today I will be reviewing Matrix Opti Black Professional Shine Enhance Conditioner. I have told previously that my hair resembles a jharu. Now regular hair care has made it much more manageable and tamed. However, since I step out in the sun a lot, my previously dark black hair has lost its shine and turned very dull. Although my hair is soft now with use of Tresemme and Dove products, and my new Streax Deep Hydrating hair mask, which I reviewed a few days back, I was in search for a product which could add luster to my locks. So when the SA suggested this conditioner this time, I decided to give a try. Matrix is a leader in hair care products and I was desperate to see some change.

So here with the review:

Product description: Opti black Dazzling Shine is a professional hair care range formulated specially to impart brilliant mirror shine throughout the lengths of your hair. Enriched with Vitamin E this range adds luster to naturally dark hair and protects colored hair for up-to 24 washes.

Packaging: The product comes in a shining black tube with a flip open cap. It looks very sassy on my bathroom shelves and the tube is leak-proof and travel friendly.

My Experience with Matrix Opti Black Professional Shine Enhance Conditioner:

The conditioner is black in color, of thick consistency but is easy to spread on hair. It doesn’t take a lot of time to wash. It has a slight smell, whose resemblance I am unable to figure out. I never expect miracles on my kind of hair. So with neutral hopes, I began using it. I used a coin sized amount for my mid lengthhair and spread on the shafts.

While washing I could not feel any extra smoothness as such. In fact, I feel Tresemme and Dove conditioners did better in this respect. After washing, I air dried my hair. There was something different about them. It wasn’t very smooth or silky, but it kind of looked healthy and less damaged. In fact, my hair seems wrecked by UV and pollution, and the first use gave a subtle sheen to my hair. There weren’t many tangles in my hair and I could comb through easily.

With the next few uses, I have noticed my hair looking shinier, not the dazzling shine, but yes I-take-care-of-my-hair type shine. My dull locks seem livelier and on some days, I can see light reflected back on them. That’s a huge achievement considering my hair never reflected any light since my teens.

If dry parched hair is your primary concern, then this is not for you. I have used better conditioners that quench the thirst of hairs much more. However if you are looking to add some shine to your locks, do try this. It gives shine, bounce and very naturally beautiful hair.
