Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner Review

Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner Review

Hi Everyone!!!

I reviewed Matrix Opticare Shampoo a few weeks ago.  I tried it recently with the conditioner of the same range. Read on to find out about this conditioner.

Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner Review

Enriched with Shea Butter to help, protect, condition and moisturise for healthy looking, silky shiny hair. Detangles as it moisturises for intense smoothness and shine for frizz-free hair. Helps protect hair against damage and helps prevent split ends.

Opticare 3

My Experience with Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner:

The conditioner is white in colour and has a very thick and creamy consistency. It spreads easily on hair and doesn’t spill on the sides of the hand if the hand is tilted. It has fragrance of oranges. The fragrance is quite nice and stays on hair for some time.

Opticare 5

The conditioner has lots of parabens and chemicals, but it is particularly designed for chemically straightened hair. I have not got my hair chemically straight, but I still like to use this conditioner after shampooing my hair with Matrix shampoo or any other shampoo.

It manages the frizz of my hair very well. I feel my hair becomes manageable, soft and de-tangled with its use.  It does provide shine to my hair. I never had any problem of hair fall with this conditioner.

I don’t think it does anything to rectify damaged hair. It doesn’t prevent split ends. Overall, I like the work of this shampoo, but still I can’t forget that it has so many chemicals.

Opticare 6

Pros of Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner:

  • Meant for chemically-straightened hair.
  • Fragrance is very heavenly.
  • Manages frizz and detangles my hair.
  • Provides shine and softness.
  • Doesn’t lead to hair fall.
  • Only a small amount is required for a single use.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner:

  • Won’t help already damaged hair.
  • Doesn’t prevent split ends.
  • Contains a lot of parabens and chemicals.
  • Available only at salons.

IMBB Rating:

3/5 (-2 for parabens)

Will I Repurchase Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner?

No. This is my second bottle. I liked the effect this conditioner had on my hair, but when I reviewed shampoo from this range last time, everyone here made me realise that our hair products should be free from parabens. So, I won’t repurchase this or the shampoo because of the parabens.

Do I Recommend Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner?

Only if your hair is chemically straightened and you don’t mind the parabens.  The conditioner does good work but nothing extraordinary.

  1. Because of parabens i keep wandering from this shampoo but I always come back to it.. fab india avocado shampoo/ loreal professional had nearly balded me…
little olive oil and this shampoo… n I am sorted

    1. I am also skeptical about this shampoo and conditioner Shreya because of the parabens. but, still i love its work 🙂 i hope they had similar shampoo n conditioner without parabens, i would use it my entire life then 😛

  2. I have used this conditioner… initially it worked for me in the same way as it is working for you…. but then, it gave me so much hair-fall, I still haven’t recovered from the shock…. I was using it with the shampoo 🙁

    1. Awww.. m sorry it didn’t work for you Ritu. 🙁 I am using this since 3-4 months and i have not faced any such problem yet. One of my friends is using it since an year and she’s in love with this range.

  3. This sounds pretty good, especially as I have chemically straightened hair…thanks for sharing!
Ritu the same happened with me when I used the Sunsilk Keratinology range – gosh, my hair started coming out in lumps!
