Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum Review

By Preethi Siva

Hi ladies,

I am an ardent follower of IMBB and this is my first review. Hope you all will like it.  I had no intention to buy a foundation during my recent window shopping session, but you know how it is when a girl strolls around the attractive beauty counters  🙂 I am more of a tinted moisturiser girl. Since I act in stage plays, I use Kryolan Paint Stick for full coverage and for its lasting power, but I never hesitate to try out foundations at the counter. After trying this, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted this considering its cost. Sometimes, we buy without realizing how much it is burning our pocket. This is one such purchases, but I don’t regret it now. Let’s go to the review.

Product Description:

Full Coverage Foundation: covers appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for an instant younger look.  Serum+SPF15: helps protect against ageing signs like discoloration and age spots, with daily use.

Rs. 1100 (I think they are trying to strike a balance with MAC’s price).

It has a fruity fragrance which fades off within a few minutes.

8 shades are available. I’m NW 35 in MAC and the shade “Golden 75” matches well.

Medium to full.

My Take on Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum:

I did not have much expectation from this foundation since none of the foundations impressed me, but I was wrong. Now, I am using this foundation every day. Since this contains serum, it is perfect for daily use.

I apply Garnier BB cream and on top, I dot this foundation and blend with my ring and middle fingers. The product gets absorbed into the skin very quickly and gives an even coverage. Then, I conceal my eye area and dab some loose powder to set the foundation. If I have to attend any function, I use a primer, but BB cream does the job well too. It has SPF 15 which is an added advantage. So, one can wear it through the day time without the fear of sun damage.

Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation

One better thing about this foundation is its staying power. It stays for 6 hours easily. I have oily t-zone. My t-zone turned oily only after 3-4 hours, so I was very happy with less touch ups in between. This made my face look fresh all day.

Though this gives medium to full coverage, I would advise you to use a concealer for that flawless finish.

On the downside, it leaves a white cast immediately after application, but settles down within a minute or two. Also, it transferred a bit onto my mobile screen, but this is a small issue for me.

Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation 2

I can’t comment on the effectiveness on lines, wrinkles, age spots and discoloration part since I am using this only for the past two weeks. Also, I feel any product can show its effects only after 2-3 months, that too with continuous usage. But using just a normal foundation and using a foundation with serum makes a difference.

Pros of Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum:

  • Gives good coverage.
  • Blends easily.
  • Even coverage without looking patchy.
  • Staying power is excellent.
  • Doesn’t oxidise or melt.
  • Serum takes care of skin problems.
  • SPF protects the skin from sun rays.

Cons of Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum:

  • Expensive.
  • Transfers onto the mobile screen.
  • Concealer may be needed to hide any evident marks.

Will I Repurchase Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum?

Hmmm, this will take a long time to finish, so I am left with ample time to experiment with new ones.

    1. Thanks Jomol Ji…. I want to write lot of review and the comments down here is motivating me a lot 🙂 thanks a ton for publishing my piece of article. Really really happy 🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. Maxfactor also has a 3 in one product – concealer , foundation and primer all in one – I wonder if that`s available here yet? Great review – I`ve tried maxfactor products int he past but I`ve found that there shade selection do not agree with those who are on the NC side of MAC shades – lack of yellow tones. Does this fare well in flash photography ?

    1. It does picture well in natural light but I haven’t tried clicking pics with this foundation in artificial light yet. So I’m afraid I can’t vouch for it. And about a the 3 in 1 product, it was not available in chennai and bangalore a couple of months back…. Not sure if they’ve launched it now.

  2. Welcome to IMBB Preethi.. and WOW you act in stage plays.. I used to at one point of time..I haven’t done a lot just inter-college competitions and schools.. and it’s sheer joy to do stage plays.. it’s thrilling and satisfying.. I would love to revisit those days..

I loved reading your review…you’ve described the product really well.. I love the Kryolan paint stick and Revlon Photoready Foundation and use it everytime I go out.. otherwise I stick to my Maybelline BB cream.. 🙂

  3. Thanks Dipti… 🙂 I love acting and I enjoy a lot while on stage but the audience have to take the grief :p
I religiously believe in Kryolan paint stick they dont melt even while facing the heavy lights on stage. Maxfactor is my current fav but on anyday i will not forget my Kryolan 🙂
