Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer – Light Review

Hey guys!

Max Factor has launched some products under the ‘Colour Correction’ range recently and I got few of their colour correcting sticks. Let’s see how their ‘Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer – Light’ fared.

Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick Range

Price: GBP 9.99
Product Description:
Targeted colour correction. Easy blend concealer evens out dark spots on lighter skin. This colour corrector concealer evens out dark spots in lighter skin tones. Use to precisely correct and create the perfect base for foundation.

How to Apply:
Step 1
When applying colour corrector sticks, position your face in balanced lighting – daylight is best. Avoid lighting that casts shadows on the face.
Step 2
Use the crayon to apply directly over the area that requires colour correction.
Step 3
Gently pat onto the skin and blend at the edges.
Step 4
When all areas of the face have been colour corrected, apply max factor cc cream for a flawless base, or directly apply foundation.

My Experience with Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer – Light:

Max Factor Colour Corrector Sticks

Max Factor has some decent products in the market. I liked the sound of color correcting sticks and the convenience of usage. I bought the Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer – Light, which is a pink colour corrector. The ‘Colour Correction’ range has about five different colour corrector sticks. Colour correcting is a whole theory in the makeup game – each unique color to nullify the other. Pink is specifically used to even out the skin tone.

Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer - Light Review

The Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer – Light comes as a nice crayon stick which rolls out from the bottom. It does not need a sharpener, which makes it convenient to use and there’s no wastage as such. It has a sturdy packaging and the plastic cap shuts tight. Also, being lightweight, it’s perfect for travel. For specific areas, it is advisable to use the tip of the crayon and blend on the spot – like the sides of the nose. For a broader application, glide the side of the crayon for coverage of larger areas – such as other areas of the face.

Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick The Balancer - Light Back

The product appears light pink in colour but on applying it gives a very slight pink tinge and looks more white. It has a balmy texture which needs decent blending. It sets on the skin and gives it a matte finish. I applied this as dots on different parts of the face and then blended it out and followed up with my foundation. I did feel a difference with respect to a more even and brighter look. However, I generally achieve more or less the same results on applying a lighter colour concealer. So I did not really find this product very effective.

Since it’s a very light shade, this won’t go too well on darker skin tones at all. It will appear too white. This product needs to be followed up with a medium to full coverage foundation. A sheer coverage foundation will not cover this product. It has a dry texture and will suit normal to oily skin types. Since it is a cream based product and inherently dry, it will not blend well with dry skin types. If you have issues with uneven skin tone then this product can be given a try.
