Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation Review

Reason for getting Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation
Max-Factor-Miracle-Touch-Foundation
After trying Max Factor’s mineral foundation, I was so impressed with the texture (not with the shade though) that I decided to try their cream/liquid foundation. And also, since I wanted a better coverage, I got their Liquid Illusion Foundation. The SA showed me their Second Skin foundation, but then since this suited my pocket, I decided to go ahead with the Liquid Illusion.

Let me tell you something about the product

Facts about the Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion foundation :

  • • The foundation comes in a tub like package with a see through lid.
  • The texture is in between cream and liquid. Not sure why they call it Liquid Illusion when it is in-between texture
  • It has illuminating particles in it that are responsible for giving a dewy finish on your skin.
  • It has a sponge and a compartment at the base is given to store the sponge after using.

This is how Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion looks :

The black part is the compartment for the sponge and the see through part is where the foundation sits.

Available Shades: There are 7 shades available.

  • 40 Creamy Ivory; – This is the lightest available shade and this is what I got since it has yellow undertone to it and is the closest match to my skintone.
  • 45 Warm almond;
  • 55 Blushing beige;
  • 70 Natural;
  • 75 Golden;
  • 80 Bronze.

What does Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion claim to do

There is nothing specified in the package about the product except the method of storing the sponge. The SAs too did not give a glorified talk about the product. I took from their website :

Max Factor’s newest and most innovative foundation will revolutionise the way you apply your base. With unique lightweight solid to liquid formula it removes the need for the traditional concealer, foundation and powder combination and instead creates the perfect base in just one easy application. The result is a flawless, fresh and incredibly smooth complexion that glows with radiance

Things that went on to make this product :

Ingredient list is from Our Amazon’s Store
Cyclopentasiloxane, Aqua, Tridecyl Neopentanoate, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Talc, Acetyl Glucosamine, Silica, Candelilla Cera, Ozokerite, PEG-9 Polydimethysiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Sorbitan Isostearate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Camellia Sinensis, Glycerin, Allantoin, Dimethicone/Methicone Copolymer, Zinc Oxide, Hydroxyapatite, Aluminium Hydroxide, Methicone, Disodium EDTA, PEG/PPG- 18/18 Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Acetate, Propylparaben, Methyparaben, (+/- CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499)

My take on the Max Factor Liquid Illusion foundation

Likes:

  • It has a very fine texture and is easy to blend
  • A dollop (even lesser in case you do not have much to conceal) is enough to cover the whole face, neck and ears
  • It gives a decent coverage and is buildable. The coverage is even better and spreads well when applied with a damp sponge or a foundation brush. I use the sponge that came along with the foundation.
  • Gives a soft glow. This is because of the shimmers added to the foundation. The shimmers are hardly visible even in bright light. These are very very light illuminating particles and help in diffusing the light, thereby giving a healthy glow to the skin. As it claims the skin does glow with radiance
  • Since it blends well with the skin, it gives a very natural look.
  • It does not feel heavy on the skin. It is lightweight as it claims
  • Separate provision to hold the sponge after the usage
  • It doesn’t seem to clog the pores. Though it doesn’t say that is non-comdeogenic, I am saying this because I have not yet broken out after using this foundation. Also it does not settle down into the open pores.
  • Does not oxidize
  • I have a combination skin (ie., Oily T-Zone and dry sides)and it does a good work in terms of oil control. I would say that this foundation has a good amount of staying power.
  • Apart from its claim of being an all-in-one base, it also has the ingredients that go in to make a primer (read dimethicones). I feel that is the reason for its longer staying power and oil control

Max Factor Miracle

Dislikes about Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation:

  • No SPF. This I do not mind since I always intend to use a sunscreen separately even though my foundation/ TM etc etc have an SPF element in it. But for some people who prefer to have SPF in their foundation/TM and for those who do not want to use too many products, this might be a drawback.
  • No ingredient list . I got the list by googling
  • Very limited shades. Since I have a yellow skintone, I look for foundations that has a yellow undertone to it. There is only one shade in this and that is Creamy Ivory. This is also the lightest shade available in the Liquid Illusion range.
  • Packaging is not that glamorous and makes the usage a little messy. It comes in a pack as shown above. And also since the consistency is in between cream and liquid half the foundation is in the lid and the other half in the tub. So when taking out the foundation it sticks here and there thus leading to the wastage of the product. It would be good if they come up with a pump sort of a package
  • It contains Parabens
  • It claims that it combines concealer, Foundation and powder all in one. However I feel a loose / translucent powder is still required to set it.

Will I Repurchase: Since a little goes a long way, this would last me for atleast 6 months if used daily.If you ask me if I would come back to this , I would say Yes, and I would definitely recommend this for people with combination skin

But I would also like to try other brands like MAC ( read MAC mineralize satin finish), for a change

  1. I found it very attractive when I tried at the store..But the SA wasn’t available to help me with trying and so I left it at that..

    Would definitely give it a shot next time though 🙂

    This is your first article here no?

    Good review Lavanya..

    1. I so wanted to buy it but the SA confused me with the shades. I bought the age miracle instead. But will surely give this a try. 🙂

    2. Hey Poornima,

      Yes dats true. The SAs were there but were not that helpful. They showed me what I asked for but did not say or do anything more than that. They did not even suggest a suitable shade for me. I swatched the creamy ivory shade and it seemed to gel well with my skin. And also since the yellow undertone shades were minimal, the selection was much easier.

      Glad to know that you liked my revu and ya this is my first article.

    1. Hey Ki,

      Thank you. No it does not have a mousse like texture. The texture is in between cream and liquid.

      I have enjoyed reading all your posts too and am planning to get the TBS pumice stone 🙂

  5. I like the packaging but I can image that it could get messy.
    Nice review, I would like to try this foundation but there
    are so many on my list.. think I’ll go for a MAC one first,
    I’ve been wanting a MAC foundation for too long now.
    .-= Sunaina´s last blog ..Vintage shopping =-.

    1. Hi Sunaina,

      Yes, it is definitely messy. Even I want to try MAC but somehow not able to lay my hands on it. And I also want to try mineral foundation that is fully made out of minerals and nothing else. No parabens and no bismuth oxychlorides.

      But unfortunately unable to find one like that

    1. Hey Tanveer, it is between cream and liquid and it claims to combine powder too. But I use loose powder on top of it. Only then do I feel complete 🙂

  6. Lavanya is this available in India? More specifically, in lifestyle or shopperstop maxfactor counters?? thanks!
