My Experience with Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm Charming Coral:
Let’s talk about the packaging first. It is nothing really eye-catching, yet the gunmetal gold tube with transparent cap is sleek and attractive. Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm in the shade “Charming Coral” comes properly sealed and has a thinner and sleek bullet as compared to lipsticks. The cap snaps shut and it is a perfect packaging to tuck into everyday bags/clutches for reapplications.
There is no specific fragrance in the product. What bothered me was the steeper price of the product. Maybelline baby lips rules the world of lip balms and is far cheaper option over this, but the color payoff of Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm wins over. I will pen down the comparison at the end of my review.
The shade charming coral is a beautiful shade; I expected a lot of orange hue from the lip balm, but when applied, it looks really beautiful over my expectations. The formula has its highs and lows. Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm is moisturizing and hydrating on lips, but not as much as a pure lip balm (read Maybelline Baby Lips as reference). Though the texture is surely better than a pile of cream formula lipsticks, the pigmentation covers it all up.
I like the sheer wash of vibrant color in one swipe and it can be easily built up with glossy shine and moisture provided by the product. My swatches were result of 3 swipes of Max Factor lip balm. In one line, it provides ample moisture to dry lips along with good color payoff that stays for 3-4 hours on average. Also, you don’t need a mirror for reapplication. The ingredient list is paraben free, which is a big relief with tons of chemicals we use every day on our bodies.
Now comparison between few lip balms I have used. Revlon Color burst lip butters are the best in my opinion because of the intense color payoff and lovely formula. Burt Bee’s lip balms follow the priority list; I have reviewed the shade Hibiscus on IMBB. Maybelline Baby lips and Max Factor X ColourIntensifying Balm share the same position because, Maybelline has the moisture edge and Max Factor has better pigmentation.
Pros of Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm Charming Coral:
- Comforts dry lips with moisture that lasts upto 4 hours.
- Easy to apply, reapply and travel-friendly packaging.
- Love the pigmentation.
- Available in 9 beautiful shades.
- Paraben free product.
- Fragrance free.
Cons of Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm Charming Coral:
- Over priced!
IMBB Rating: 4/5
Do I Recommend/ Repurchase Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balm Charming Coral?
I like the formula but looking at the price per application, I will not repurchase Max Factor X Colour Intensifying Balms. However, for those who live in united Kingdom, there are deals running frequently offering sales, which is the best time to pick this product without burdening your pocket.
