Hey ladies,

Ever since I have seen the Maybelline color drama lip pencil my heart got stuck up there, but they were out of stock and left with only two shades , they convince me that they will have more shades in couple of weeks so I was waiting for the new stock to come. As the Maybelline store is at the walking distance from my residence , I thought its better to wait. Unfortunately, the new stock of 7 shades came . So I picked the shade Red essential. Lets find out more about it.

Packaging :
These lip pencils come in wooden cover packaging rather than a plastic and are stubby and short with colored bottom of pencil is true to the actual shade inside . Also, all the shades have a black cap with the shade code and name written over it. These need to be sharpened and you will loose substantial amount of product each time you do so.

Texture
These are very smooth , amazingly pigmented and glides like a dream on the lips. It can be used as a standalone lip liner and as a full on lip color. It really has good color pay off in one swipe, it gives a complete opaque color even in nudes shades available too.

My experience with Maybelline 510 Red Essential Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil :

The shade I picked is a red. I don’t find these lip pencils completely matte but they have little sheen to them. The best part is that these do not dry out the lips but keeps the lips moisturized for good 2 hours after putting them on. Due to the creamy texture, these lip pencil are pretty comfortable to wear and do not accentuate lines or bleed out of lips. The pigmentation , color payoff and formula is something to fall in love with .

Longevity
There are no claims of a long-lasting formula by the brand but it stayed on lips for good 4 to 5 hours,but it depends on how much you eat ,drink, talk and lick your lips. These do not survive meals for sure but light snacking and drinking can fade the color to some extent and touch up is a must after meal.

Pros of Maybelline 510 Red Essential Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil :

• Moisturizing and do not accentuates fine lines
• Good pigmentation and color pay off
• Very smooth creamy to apply
• It is very light on the lips
• No scent to it.
• Do not bleed out of lips

• Stays for decent amount of time with very light snacking and drinking

Cons of Maybelline 510 Red Essential Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil :

• Do not survive meals
• Product gets wasted every time the pencil is sharpened
• Transfers like crazy
• Find it a bit pricey for a drugstore brand(approx. INR 787), as Maybelline is very affordable brand otherwise
