Maybelline has added three new shades to their collection of Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Lip Balm. I had already reviewed two shades “Cinnamon” and “Blackberry” out of the three. Today, I am reviewing the third shade called “Grapefruit” from the same range. Keep reading for more details about the product.

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow – Grapefruit:

The packaging of the lip balm is super cute. The lip balm comes in a cute and chubby plastic tube. This tube comes wrapped up in a clear plastic sheet bearing some necessary information about the product. The packaging is color-coded like all other baby lips. The lip balm tube is quite girly and funky as well. The tube is light orangish brown in color and it bears all detailing on it in bright orange fonts, so these fonts does not show up nicely on the tube because of the base of similar color.

All other candy wow crayons are comes with contrasting base color, so they look more attractive. The tube of this lip balm looks quite dull. The lip balm has a twist-up base, which works pretty smoothly. The tube is big in size and I cannot carry it in my pocket. The lip balm bullet has a rounded tip, which facilitates easier application. Overall, I love the packaging except for the fact that this is big in size and not pocket friendly.

“Grapefruit” is a soft n*de kind of shade. It is n*de orange kind of shade with slightly brownish hues. The lip balm has a soft glossy sheen. It is free from shimmer or glitter. The lip balm has a very mild grapefruit fragrance, which fades away within seconds. So, it is a yay for those who do not like strong smelling lip products. The smell is so dull that is barely noticeable. The pigmentation of the lip balm average and the color is easily buildable. It requires two-three swipes to deposit enough color to the lips properly. It is not capable of hiding highly pigmented lips but it definitely covers mild pigmentation.

The texture of the lip balm is thick, smooth and creamy. It glides like a dream on the lips. It is non sticky and feels comfortable on the lips. It perfectly heals my dry lips. The formula is very moisturizing and nourishing. This lip balm does its job really well. My lips feel super soft immediately after application and it keeps my lips soft almost all day long. The formula is nice and nourishing for dry winters also. My lips stays moisturized and hydrated for pretty long. The lip balm does not contain any SPF, which is a downside, as I prefer using a lip balm with SPF.

The color stays on my lips for some 2 hours or so without eating or drinking anything and the color goes away quickly even with little snacking. It keeps my lips hydrated for around 4-5 hours, but the 12-hour moisture claim is too far fetched. Still, I am a lip balm junkie and I do not mind reapplying it more often. Overall, it fulfills all my expectations, which I had from a lip balm.
