Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Fierce N Tangy Review

Hey everybody,

Maybelline baby lips have been in the market for quite some time now and I’m pretty sure everyone has at least one of these, after all these are the cutest lip balms, aren’t they? Until a while ago, baby lips with a clear plastic packaging were only available in the US and Europe, but recently, these made their way to Asia too.  Four of these baby lips with clear packaging have been launched in India recently and they are from the “Electro Pop” range. While 3 of them have already been reviewed on IMBB, I’m reviewing the fourth one today, which is called “Fierce n Tangy” and comes in a very cute yellow packaging. Read on to know more about it.

My Take on Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Fierce N Tangy:

Fierce N Tangy is a yellow lip balm which is very lightly tinted.  The tint is more likely to show up on pink lips than pigmented lips, precisely why I bought this one, since I have pigmented lips.

Packaging:  10/5 for the packaging. I remember seeing these baby lips on youtube last year and really wishing for them to make their way to India too. The packaging is the biggest reason why I bought this product. It comes in a very cute black and yellow packaging. The tube is black while the transparent cap has the font in a bright yellow which makes it so cute. The balm inside is yellow in color too, but we’ll get to that later. The packaging is secure and sturdy and travel friendly.

Texture:  The texture is buttery soft and smooth and it glides on to lips like a dream. It does not feel heavy on the lips at all. It gets absorbed on the lips very quickly. Though, I feel that in comparison to other baby lips, this one is slightly heavier in consistency and while the other baby lips need 3-4 swipes on my lips, I usually swipe this electro pop only once. Also, it does not feel sticky or oily or greasy on the lips. It keeps the lips moisturized and over time, makes the lips softer and fuller.

Tint:  Though it is yellow in color, the tint is very light and barely shows up on lips. In fact, I have extremely pigmented lips and I am talking from my personal experience that the yellow tint of this particular baby lips neutralizes the pigmentation of my lips to an extent and makes my lips look slightly pinker than usual, which I absolutely love about this product. The yellow tint is more likely to show up people who have very light color lips/ pink lips. The yellow tint is in no way too bright or too yellow. I give the tint a big thumbs up. 😀

Staying Power:  Though it claims to stay on lips for 8+ hours, it doesn’t, it keeps my lips moisturized for a good 5 hours and then I have to reapply. But who’s complaining?

Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Fierce N Tangy:

  • Affordably priced.
  • Keeps lips moisturized.
  • Soft and smooth in texture and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips.
  • The tint is great for people with pigmented lips.
  • Cute packaging.
  • Contains SPF, so yay!
  • Sturdy and travel-friendly packaging.
  • Contains Vitamin E and shea butter which keeps lips very moisturized.
  • It has a sweet scent which goes away in a matter of minutes.

Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Fierce N Tangy:

  • 8 hours staying power claim is false.
  • People with light pink lips can skip it as it can make their lips look very yellow.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Fierce N Tangy?

This is by far my most favorite variant of Baby lips and I’m pretty sure that when I run out of baby lips, this is the one I’m going to buy again. I recommend it to everyone!

IMBB Rating:

4.9/5 (-.1 for false claim about staying power).

Conclusion:  This is a very cute-looking lip balm that keeps lips moisturized, feels very soft and smooth on lips, doesn’t feel heavy or sticky at all and is very affordably priced. I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t give this beauty a try! 😛

    1. Yes, that’s what I noticed too. But all the reviews that I read or all the videos i watched on youtube on electro pop baby lips, said that these do contain spf. maybe it’s not mentioned the packaging… but SPF is one of the USPs of these baby lips, so i thought of mentioning it as a pro. :))
