Last week, when I was at my local beauty store and looking at some more shades of the Colorshow lipsticks by Maybelline (I am obsessed with those!!!), the SA told me that two new baby lips have also been launched by Maybelline – one is Watermelon Smooth and the other is Lychee Addict (which I already owned before it launched in India, but we’ll talk about that later), so I bought the Watermelon Smooth one. My Views on Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Watermelon Smooth:

Watermelon Smooth is a transparent lip balm and imparts no color/tint onto the lips. It’s perfect for everyday wear/for wearing at home when you want no fuss and just want to moisturize your lips without giving them a tint of color. It has a very mild fragrance of Watermelon which subsides after a couple of minutes.

Packaging:  It comes in a very cute packaging and I am inclined towards green and pink these days, so it’s no surprise that I absolutely love its packaging. It’s sturdy, compact and travel friendly.

Texture:  I’m sure almost everyone owns at least one baby lips lip balm and everyone knows how nice the texture is. It is very soft and smooth in texture, but not very buttery. These lip balms are not at all sticky or greasy like some other lip balms in the market, which is why these are my go-to lip balms. It glides onto lips very smoothly and instantly moisturizes lips. The results are very much visible as the baby lips lip balms moisturize lips by at least 50% and also make lips appear more soft and fuller.

Staying Power:  Though the product claims to keep lips moisturized for 8 hours, it keeps my lips moisturized for max 4 hours and then I have to reapply, but I’m certainly not complaining. I have been using baby lips very regularly in fact, everyday for almost a year now and I must say that baby lips has really repaired my chapped lips.

Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Watermelon Smooth:

• It has a very mild fragrance of watermelon which subsides after a couple of minutes of application.
• Keeps lips moisturized for around 4 hours and then re-application is required.
• Smooth in texture.
• This doesn’t feel sticky/ greasy on lips.
• Contains SPF.
• Has repaired my chapped lips to a great extent.
• Affordable.
• Travel-friendly and sturdy packaging.

Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Watermelon Smooth:

• This doesn’t keep my lips moisturized for 8 hours as the product claims to.
• The SA told me it’s a limited edition lip balm, but I really like it and wish it’s added to the permanent collection.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Watermelon Smooth?

I have been using Baby lips regularly for over a year now and I wish to continue doing so, so yes, I will repurchase. And obviously I recommend this to everyone.

Final Verdict:

I have tried all the variants of Baby lips and I can say that this one is my most favorite because it doesn’t have a pungent smell, nor does it taste funny. It keeps lips moisturized and also repairs them. It’s a my favorite lip balm!
