My Experience with Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 06 Vamp Red:

Beginning with the packaging of the product, the lipstick comes in a nice easy squeeze tube with a soft foam applicator. The tube is tiny and easy to accommodate. The body of the tube is color-coded, which helps to spot the shades easily in makeup stash. The tube has the detailing with black fonts and has a long matte black cap. This is a typical screw-on type cap that fits pretty securely making the packaging leaf-proof and travel-friendly. The cap has a nice rubberized texture which feels super soft. The applicator is soft and gives very precise application. The slanted tip helps to apply the lipstick easily. Overall, the packaging is really nice and travel-friendly.

“Vamp Red” is a typical ox-blood shade. The shade is bold and bright and not for faint-hearted people. This makes it a perfect choice for the festive season and weddings. This shade is suitable for all skin tones. It is a lovely color which brightens up the complexion. This is the perfect shade for the fall. The lipstick is super pigmented. It gives opaque coverage in a single swipe and hides pigmented lips really well. The lipstick sets to a nice soft matte finish. There is no significant sheen or shimmers in this lipstick. It has a sweet candy like fragrance in it, which is refreshing and barely noticeable. Hence, it is not bothersome at all.

The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. The formula is on the creamier side. Hence, it glides effortlessly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. The color spreads easily on the lips. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and looks even and smooth on the lips. The color hugs the lips nicely and never looks patchy. The lipstick does not budge at all. The lipstick has a tendency to transfer a little but I am glad the formula is not heavily transferring. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not have that thick or waxy kind of texture. The lipstick has the tendency to cling to dry patches on the lips, so it is necessary to keep the lips well exfoliated and moisturized. The lipstick formula is not really moisturizing. My lips feel dry after a few hours of application. So, it is necessary to keep the lips hydrated and nourished. I prefer using a lip balm beneath every time I use this lipstick, otherwise, my lips get dry at the end of the day.

The lasting power is super long, it stays for around 6-7 hours easily on my lips. It does not smear at all. The color fades a little after a full meal. A light stain stays on the lips, so I prefer a reapplication after meals to make it look fresh and beautiful. Removing the lipstick is a little tedious as it stains the lips slightly, but a good makeup remover does the job perfectly making it easy to wipe off.
