Maybelline Color Sensational Divine Wine 695 Creamy Matte Lipstick Review

Last year Maybelline came out with ten Creamy Matte Lipsticks and I got one of the shades. They have a nice range of colors in this collection. These ones were selling like hotcakes at that time. But, you can still find these at the stores as Maybelline has added these shades to its permanent collection. So this particular shade is a purchase of last year & I forgot to review this. Anyhow, here I am to review this one lipstick that I absolutely love to wear during fall time.

I bought this one from Walmart. But you can find these at drugstores also, it’s little expensive there.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Divine Wine 695 Creamy Matte Lipstick:

These lipsticks come in traditional Maybelline Color Sensational packaging. The top cap is of same color on the all the lipsticks of this collection. The bottom shows the name & number of the shade. The color on the sticker is an approximate shade of the color which is inside. It’s a very functional & a standard packaging.

It’s a dark wine color. It is the darkest shade in the collection. It comes very creamy first when you apply, but eventually it turns matte. The formula is lightweight. The pigmentation of this shade is incredible and application wise, it doesn’t feel patchy at all which happens with most of the matte lipsticks. It’s like having the best of both the worlds – creamy and matte in one formula.

After like a couple of hours of application I didn’t see it settling down into fine lines of my lips or fading away also. I didn’t feel to reapply a second coat because it gets very dark with the first application itself, but it’s buildable though.

Another good point is that after cleaning this lipstick, it doesn’t leave any marks on dry patches of the lips. Usually darker lip colors tend to stain the lips unevenly. It is a difficult color to wear because you have make sure that it is evenly applied, even to the corners of the lips. So, pair it with a red-brown lip liner to get that vivacious Hollywood look. I love the end result of this color.

I have seen actress Sonam Kapoor’s much talked about Cannes Film Festival 2014’s look, she has seen using a shade of similar family with thick winged eye liner & a nose ring and since then I was so obsessed to find one that works for my skin tone and I am happy to add this one to my collection.
