Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss In Glisten Up Pink
Recently I told you all that I had bought a lot of glosses, because I thought that I had collected so many lip balms, that I needed to put a full-stop to that. But how can we stay without buying something? I had to get something, so I started hoarding lip glosses. I got some cute shades from the Maybelline Color Sensational range like captivating coral, one shiny day etc. While the other two were bright, I thought this would be sober enough to use. Let’s see if it was as sober as I had expected it to be!
Price: Rs 350 for 5 ml.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss-Glisten Up Pink:
To start with, looking at the shade I thought that it would be a nice shiny nude shade because that is what it looks like from the bottle. But to my surprise it looked something different when worn on my lips.
Let’s talk about the packaging first. It comes in a long transparent square shaped tube It is a see-through one so we can easily distinguish the shade if we have a few of these. The packaging is very classy. It is easy to handle and there is no leakage at all. The wand is a soft one, so the colour gets easily applied. But the application is a bit uneven with the wand and you have to press the lips a few times to get a perfect pop of color.
The shade is a frosty pink one and looks different than in the bottle. It looks like a nude pink with a lots of shimmer. The consistency is good and spreads very nicely on the lips. Although the application is a bit uneven with the wand, the gloss itself settles down after a couple of minutes. It is a light baby pink colour with micro shine particles which helps the gloss to dazzle.
This is a good shade for night wear, but for day-time its a big no-no. It loses the extreme frostiness after a while, but when it is freshly applied it looks dangerously frosty. I have never ever used a frosty lip gloss like this one. But the moisturizing properties are amazing. It actually healed my chapped lips and made them look very smooth. But what’s the use if I can’t wear the shade only?
The fragrance is a pleasing fruity one. It stays on for 3 to 3 and a half hours. Then it leaves a shimmer behind when the shade goes off. I wouldn’t mind wiping them off, but the main con was the shade itself. I wish it was a little subtle actually, like it looks in the bottle.
Pros Of Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss In Glisten Up Pink:
- Comes at an affordable price and available in many shades
- The packaging is classy; comes in a see-through bottle which makes it so easy to distinguish the shades
- The pigmentation is good; good enough to cover pigmented lips
- Super hydrating and totally healed chapped lips
- Stays for a good 3 hours on lips
- Does not settle into fine lines or does not bleed
- The fragrance is pleasing
- It looks very dazzling and glossy when applied on the lips
- Good shade for night-time
Cons Of Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss In Glisten Up Pink:
- Oh my god! It is so frosty.
- I wouldn’t dare to wear it outside the house
- Application is uneven with the wand; but soon settles down fine
- Leaves shimmer behind after the gloss goes away
- Not a versatile one; too frosty for day wear
- Looks different on lips and in the bottle
Will I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss In Glisten Up Pink?
No I wouldn’t buy it again nor would recommend it, because I don’t think this is something necessary in the vanity. There are a 1000 better shades than this one. The frostiness is something that actually makes it look bad. A complete no-no!
IMBB Rating: 1.5/ 5.
Conclusion: The range seemed pretty good although this one is not upto that level. I might try the other shades in this range, but this was a total dud for me!
