Application: Apply lip color with applicator wand starting at the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My Take On Maybelline Color Sensational Liquid Lip Polish Berry Pop 8:

Packaging: The lip polish comes in a transparent, small, double layer cuboid shaped gloss tube. By double layer I mean that the gloss had two layers in it, an additional layer provides extra protection to the tube, against breaking and the innermost layer holds the gloss, which can be seen in a lipstick bullet shape. It comes with a silver screw cap, to which the short applicator wand is attached.

The applicator is a soft spongy one, which I think is of palm leaf shaped. Well the applicator is nicely saturated in the gloss, so when you pick the gloss, you get sufficient amount of color at once. The applicator helps spread the color easily and precisely on lips, however it doesn’t deposit the color evenly on lips at once, because of the weird applicator shape. One can find the shade number on a sticker at the bottom of the tube. Overall, the packaging looks extremely cute, travel friendly and is convenient to use as well.

Shade: Pop 8 is the most beautiful shade among the three and I am glad I bought it. It’s a nice wine/berry color, with magenta pink undertones to it. The shade does consist of concentrated but very tiny light emitting silver shimmers to it. The shimmers really add to the glossy and juicy shine of the lip polish. Literally, this kind of shade is perfect for falls, but I would love to wear it on the summers too. The shade is suitable for every complexion, it adds so much to your face. When applied lightly, this shade becomes wearable for every day.

Texture and Pigmentation: The lip polish has a rich creamy and smooth texture to it. It glides so smoothly like butter on lips. It feels like velvet jelly on application and is comfortable on lips. Initially after application, it does feel a little heavy on lips and I felt a slight tingling sensation on lips, which lasted for a while. This may have happened because it makes my lips appear full and plump. It’s neither thin nor does it feels gloopy or sticky.

As claimed, it is super hydrating and even better than a lip balm, it feels like a treatment for lips. And literally, it kept my lips hydrated throughout the day. The lip polish doesn’t emphasize dry, flaky lips instead it treats them well and makes lips appear smoother and healthier. The lip polish can bleed a bit from the side corners of lips when you put more than two layers of it. This problem can surely be tackled by just lining the lips with a same color lip liner.

The lip polish gives mirror like shine just like a lip gloss. Being a dark color, this shade renders intense and solid color with just one swipe. One can layer the color for more intensity. It covers flaws of lips very well with just one swipe. Make sure not to rub your lips during application, as the color will become patchy from that area and one will have to layer it again and again in order to get an even coat of color, which later will make the gloss bleed from the natural lip lines.

Staying Power: This gloss really amazed me with its staying power. It lasted on me with even color for almost 6-7 hours, with full meals and snacking. There was no absolute fading or neither had I felt the need for re-application after meals. I applied it at 10 AM in the morning and literally removed it at 9 PM. Obviously, I had eaten my lunch and dinner in between but it was still there on my lips. Neither much of the color faded nor did the glossy and creamy layer go away.

Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Liquid Lip Polish Berry Pop 8:

• Can apply patchy if not applied in the proper manner.
• Without a lip liner, it can bleed a bit upon layering.
• Becomes slightly uneven and patchy while wearing off.
• Being a gloss it transfers easily into cutleries.
• Being a darker shade it stains the lips, but the stain can be easily removed.

Will I Recommend/ Re-Purchase Maybelline Color Sensational Liquid Lip Polish Berry Pop 8?
Yes definitely, this is a nice hybrid product with qualities of almost every lip product. The berry color is really bright and vivid and will look good on everybody. These are quiet affordable considering the great quality of the product. Though I love this product, I will most probably not buy this shade since it will last me for a while.
