Maybelline has recently launched their new collection of matte lipsticks with a metallic finish called Maybelline Colorsensational Matte Metallics lipsticks. There are 10 shades in this range and I have got 8 out of them. I have “Copper Rose” and “Pure Gold” previously. Today, I am going to share my views on the shade “Copper Spark.” Read on for more details about the product.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics Lipstick Copper Spark:

The packaging of the lipstick is regular and like all other lipsticks from Maybelline’s “Colorsensational” range. There is only a change in the color of the cap. The lipstick tube is rectangular and comes wrapped in a cellophane paper, which has necessary details about the product. The tube has a mirror finish and it closes with a long, translucent, black-colored plastic cap. There is a color-coded sticker at the base of the lipstick tube, which bears the shade name and number. The brand’s tagline is printed on the lipstick tube in small black fonts. Overall, the packaging is basic and travel friendly. But, there is nothing too fancy about it.

“Copper Spark” is a glittery bright copper-orange kind of a shade. The color is bold but can be pulled off with the right makeup look. It has medium-sized copper colored shimmers. The shimmers don’t look too chunky; they are finely milled into the lipstick and give a nice metallic finish to it rather than looking too glittery. This shade is great to mix with other lipsticks.

It can be used to create an ombre effect as well. It is definitely not an everyday lipstick but definitely a rocking shade to wear to parties and wedding. It is totally different from the usual bold lip colors and using such unconventional shades is a bit tricky. According to the brand, this shade is most flattering for medium skin tones. Mostly the metallic finish lipstick has a crème formulation, so its matte formula makes a difference.

Most of the shades in this range have average pigmentation. This shade is also average in pigmentation, but it is buildable. Two to three swipes are needed to get proper coverage. It hides pigmented lips well and looks even on the lips. It has a mild vanilla fragrance, which is barely bothersome and fades out in a few minutes.

The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. It glides easily on the lips, but it drags a little if the lips are not well exfoliated and moisturized. It is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick or heavy texture. It does not feel sticky at all. The formula is neither drying nor really moisturizing. So, I always use a lip balm beneath to keep my lips hydrated for long. The lipstick does not have creasing tendency. It does not look patchy on the lips. It does not settle into the fine lines as well.

These lipsticks do not have a heavily transferring formula. They last for approximately 3-4 hours on my lips without having any meals. It fades away completely after having meals. It does not leave shimmer behind but they are easy to remove. Overall, I liked the quality and unique shade range.
