I am happy to post this review since I haven’t seen these lipsticks anywhere around except for now on IMBB! Maybelline has come up with 2 new lipstick ranges: one is the Color Show Big Apple Red collection and the other one is this Vivid Matte. I picked up 2 shades called “Scarlet Red” and “Violet Pink”, and here is the review of the pink variant.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Lipstick Vivid3 Violet Pink:
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in deep midnight red packaging with a black base and inner packaging. I love how they made the packaging different this time, so it is easy to spot the range. It has a plastic wrapped with “Vivid Matte” written over it. But I hate the fact that the name isn’t printed over; the name gets thrown away with the plastic the moment I open it. The name is printed over the base, but that’s a bit inconvenient to see every time. The packaging is handy and good-looking too. The bullet twists up very nicely, so no flaws with the packaging.
Shade:
This particular range has only 4 shades and I wish there were more, but they have mostly covered the most running shades so it is okay! The shade “Violet Pink” is a very pretty deep hot pink shade with minute violet hints. It gives a very feminine look to the makeup which makes me call it a perfect shade for romantic dates.
This shade is very wearable for weddings, festive season, parties and probably every occasion that you have to attend. But this shade is easily dupable too; in fact, Maybelline itself has a lot of similar pinks. This shade instantly brightens up my complexion. But, after a few hours, it gets a neon-ish tinge which reveals the yellow undertones of my skin. A pretty shade, but a very common one!
Texture, consistency and finish:
The lipstick glides very smoothly on my lips without a lot of efforts. Although it has a classy super matte finish, it is creamy initially which gives a flawless finish. After an hour, it feels a bit dry but that is the case with all matte lipsticks, so no issues there. This particular shade accentuates dry patches and settles into the fine lines, but it is not the case with the other one since the red shade is too bold.
Staying power:
The lipstick stays for 4-5 hours with full meals with the colour fading little by little. And, with a few snacks, the staying power is extended by one hour. It does not fade away completely at any point as it leaves a bright stain which easily comes off with a makeup remover.
So, a good range to try out if you love matte lipsticks, but preferably try the red one as it is better than this one.

• Intense colour pay-off so will cover pigmented lips
• Good staying power
Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Lipstick Vivid3 Violet Pink:
• Might dry out the lips a little
• Limited shade selection
• Accentuates dry patches after a few hours
• Settles into the fine lines after meals
Will I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Lipstick Vivid3 Violet Pink?
I think this isn’t really worth it even though the shade is good because I have tried better pinks by Maybelline. This shade is very similar to Infinitely Fuchsia from their 14 hr super-stay range and I would prefer Infinitely Fuchsia by adding a few bucks! But if you like this one, then go for it!

I wish they had more shades in this range, but we have the SuperStay and the Lip Gradation range for mattes, so all cool!
