Recently I bought a lot of stuff from Maybelline; I am obsessed with their new Color Show Creamy Matte Lip Color range. The staying power of this range might be low, still I love this range of lipsticks. So today’s review is going to be on another Maybelline lipstick in the shade ‘Mysterious Mocha’. I already have two shades from this range. I love natural shades as my daily lip colors, so I love this shade. More details in the review! 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline Color Show Mysterious Mocha Creamy Matte Lip Color:
The Color Show rage is quite a popular lipstick range in India now. This is a relatively new lunch with matte texture. It seems very affordable, according to its quality. The packaging looks very similar to the older Color Show range though. This creamy – matte lip color comes in a black packaging with a matte texture which depicts that it’s a matte range. It also comes covered with a plastic packaging which bears all the details about this product. At the back of this product, there is a color coded sticker. In the middle of the packing, the light brownish ring indicates the shade too, which makes it easy to identify. Overall, this packaging is totally easy to carry.
This range has 12 different shades to offer. I have the shade ‘Mysterious Mocha’. The number of this shade is M304. I like the name of this shade. It sounds like a mystery. This is very neutral kind of a shade. It’s a perfect, natural, light brown shade with pink undertones. This is not like a warm brown shade; it looks like a nude brown shade on lips. I prefer this kind of shade for my daily use. The shade is perfect for office going girls. It looks like a formal color on the lips. As I have olive – tan skin tone, the shade looks natural on my lips. For me it’s a perfect nude lipstick.
I love to use this shade with my bold eye makeup. It makes my looks more soothing and natural. This goes perfect with day looks, but I think it might not show up much on dusky beauties. It might look similar to their normal lip shade. Like the all other shades, it also has good pigmentation. One swipe can build up good color on the lips; for the true color to show up, you need to apply two or three times maximum. Love the pigmentation of this shade.
It imparts a nice matte finish on the lips. It doesn’t contain any shimmer and never looks shiny or glossy. It has a nice, creamy formula which keep my lips moisturized. It smoothly glides on the lips. I have normal to dry lips, so it suits nicely on me. I feel that when you apply a nude brown shade, you should prepare your lips beforehand. I, therefore, always exfoliate my lips before using this kind of shades. It blends evenly on my lips. I absolutely love the way it looks on lips.
Overall, this shade goes well with any kind of outfit. It also has a very nice floral smell. The smell is pleasant, and not bothersome at all. It has a good staying power also. It stays around 5 hours nicely on my lips, but after 3 hours I need to reapply it. After the three hours mark, it starts fading from the center of my lips. It has a tendency to transfer a little with meals. After 3 or 4 hours, it feels dry on lips owing to its matte texture. But, it doesn’t settle into the fine lines. It never leaves any stain on my lips either. I feel this particular shade has lower staying power than other shades I own. This shade is easy to remove with any remover.
Overall I love this natural brown shade. This is a shade you should have in your collection. It goes perfect with a heavy eye makeup. Also, the combination of creamy formula & matte texture is really impressive. This is a great MLBB color, and is perfect for formal occasions. Love love!
