Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Indian and US Versions

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Review
A warm hearted hello and Merry Christmas everyone 🙂 I wish my secret Santa would put lots of cosmetics and goodies in my stocking 😉

I am currently on my vacations until the next month when I get busy with my internships and training. While in the meantime I am spending time reviewing some really amazing products that I got from the United States; apart from my little haul here. I’ve always envied the very wide range that was released out of India. I was longing to get my hands on the Polka dots for ages and finally I have it today! My excitement reached the sky. Along with two shades in polka dots, my sister also got another from the Sequins range, and words alone cannot describe it . Of course the Color Show of the Indian version is also laudable, but the grass is greener on the other side of the fence 😛 . Coming to the reviews, I have combined the Indian and the US versions together, let’s see how the foreigners fare.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots and Sequins Nail Lacquer:

I was totally mad about getting hold of these, and my excitement was inbound when I finally caught them and couldn’t wait to flaunt them. Ah! Two of my nails on index finger and thumb chipped during my mechanical laboratory, I did not have the heart to trim the rest. Please bear with the unevenness 🙁

Maybelline Color Show nail polishThe texture of the Polka dots lacquers are kinda runny and sheer, and both the shades consist of varied sizes of monochrome hexagonal shapes that take the Polka form. I don’t have issues about the runny form, because I think it’s perfect if you want the Polka to dominate your nails. Two to three coats would be just fine to flaunt them and the look of it is just too gorgeous to resist. I am so amazed by the lasting power of these paints, it stayed without chipping for about 4-5 days despite the little chores I carried out.

The shade Sapphire masquerade is a deep blue color that sways more on the indigo side. This range of limited edition sequins one is just too gorgeous by itself, it stands out from the rest. It is a bit similar to the Glitter mania version, and gives a sandy texture that is not too harsh and doesn’t interfere with fabrics. Two to three coats would make it completely opaque. But this one does not stay too long, and chips off rather soon. This shade consists of deep blue to indigo and maroon to pink sequins of different sizes in a base of deep blue glitter. It is perfect and beautiful for the weddings and parties. The picture doesn’t do justice to the awesomeness of the paint. I wish they’d launch paints like these here, since they are so amazing in quality and variety, decently priced too. The brush is just perfect and pick the right amount of lacquer. My only problem with these is getting them off, it is quite bothersome since they refuse to come off easily. I’d suggest to wrap the cotton dunked in remover around the fingers for a while and remove them. I am completely head over heels over these paints and have no issues with it. 🙂

Pros of Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots and Sequins Nail Lacquer:

  • Unique Polka patterns, in a base of different shades.
  • Limited edition sequins is excellent for party wear.
  • Cute packaging.
  • Decently priced of quantity provided.
  • Staying power is amazing.
  • Brush is superb.

Cons of Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots and Sequins Nail Lacquer:

  • Difficult to remove.

IMBB rating for Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots and Sequins Nail Lacquer:

5/5 🙂

My Experience with Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer (Indian version):

I was madly in love with the Indian version until I came across the above 😉 I am still in love, maybe a less mad 😛 The range of shades are too good, and I am impressed with most of them. I own about ten of the shades, most of them have been reviewed and here’s three of the shades from my stash.

Wine and Dine is a beautiful deep brownish-maroon shade with wine colored shimmers that is a gorgeous for the winters. The consistency is on the sheer side for such a dark shade, two to three coats will make it completely opaque.

Buried treasure is a combination of khaki and gold with slight grey to brown undertones, with fine gold shimmers. I was skeptical about this shade whether it would flatter or fail. Consistency is better than that of wine and dine, but two coats would make it fully opaque. It may be a dupe for Chanel Peridot 531.

Denim dash is my favorite blue from my stash. It looks like a bright blue shade in the bottle, when worn it looks toned down. It consists of fine light-blue to silver micro shimmers in a blue base. Two coats will make it completely opaque after which it settles to a matte finish. A top coat can be added for a glossy finish. But I prefer the matte finish, which makes it stand up to its name 😀

The drying time of these polishes is a bit more, I apply the second coat after an interval of time, or sometimes a day after the first coat for better results. These nail paints stay for about 4-5 days without chipping, which is quite appreciable. For nail paints these are awesome, easy on the pocket, with an ah-mazing range of shades I’ll be banished for having any issues with them!

Would I recommend/re-purchase Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer:

I highly recommend both the versions of these nail paints to everyone. I would definitely re-purchase these nail paints, in different shades though.

Conclusion: These nail paints are the best in market among the drugstore brands, easy on the pocket as well. A must for nail paint hoarders like me 🙂
