I always wanted a lipstick which is kind of a lip gloss, so when these came along last year, I was so excited. I bought the plum one and loved it so much that I went and purchased one more. I wanted a strawberry colored too, but didn’t get any! 😛 Guess I wanted to go for the “chubby cheeks-rosy lips” look 😛
Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. No heavy waxes or oils. Soft, sexy gel-color.
My Take on Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color – Rose of Attraction:
Cream with sparkles. The sparkles are noticeable in light, but it has no gritty feeling on my lips at all. The base color is a rosy coral color, which for some reason looks neon-ish on me. This one is absolutely sheer with just shimmer. I love how light it feels on my lips. There is no significant taste or smell to this. If you ask, honestly, I would say they are just glorified tinted lip balms, but they come in about 20 shades which I love. I have this in my purse all the time, supposedly, this is my carry-on lip thingy. My lips felt hydrated without the feeling that I am wearing a lip colour – kind of like the good quality balms. I had no dry lips as the product wore off as well. I wouldn’t call this particular shade pigmented because it really is sheer, but you can build it to its natural coral color.
I noticed that when it had flaky lips, it showed badly through, so I always wipe my lips off with a washcloth and it usually helps. The staying power is okay, but I really don’t mind having to reapply about every 1-2 hours. I like this range better than the Revlon lip butters as these do not melt and ruin your tube/bag even though they are buttery soft. I have a plum one as well and these days, I reach for these babies a lot.
I wanted a strawberry red shade too, but sadly didn’t find it as yet. Really, a great range for work or daytime wear. Wear it with a nude lip liner and you have got a nice opaque look that surprisingly stays longer. I use it so much, mine is already half gone 🙂 Summing it up :
