I wholeheartedly thank you all for loving my last OOTD and showering your blessings on my little bundle of joy 🙂 Your heartwarming responses always boost up my spirits! I am so blessed to be a part of IMBB.  Thankfully, Aadya is also recovering from her exhaustive teething sessions and trying to engage herself in new mischief 😛 She just rushes out into the apartment’s lobby the moment we open the main door and if we try to chase her, she will crawl away with double enthusiasm 😛 Well, she is busy yelling in the lobby and I am here to whisper about my new goodie, shhhhhh, its the Maybelline’s Color Whisper by Colorsensational Lip Color.  Read on further to hear my whispers 🙂

It’s a pretty box packaging with transparent see-through cap. The cap color co-ordinates with the respective shade. A mild scented lip gloss packaging is totally travel friendly and quite eye catching.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color – Who Wore it Red-er:

As I whispered earlier, I am totally into red and plums now.  I bought this lip color along with some 2-3 shades of red! This was a  new introduction in the Maybelline section, hence I was keen to try it out. I must say the other shades are very soft or not for me 😛 “Who
Wore it Red-er” was the loudest whispering shade of all 20 soft shades.

I always love those glosses which can be worn on their own, hence this pigmented gloss is the right choice for me. It’s not really a red shade, but a pinkish red shade tending to raspberry I guess, its truely my desired red, yay! It does not have shimmers, hence it imparts such soft, juicy shine on the lips I swear!

Somewhere, I feel its texture is kind of same as my previous L’Oreal lip balm; however, Maybelline Color Whisper is much more pigmented than L’Oreal Lip Balms.  I just love the way it glides on my lips and does provides juicy, glossy, berry red shine to my face overall! It does not give me any anemic look unlike other red shades.

The shade name justifies itself, it’s a whispering red shade I feel.  As red is always supposed to be daring and loud, this color whisper is a really soft shade, I must tell you! This lip color has a good staying power of 4-6 hours at least with meals and sips of water in between.

After 6 hours, it does fades away slightly, but with subtle stain. However, its a little disappointing to notice that it transfers a lot.

Anyway, earlier I used to be nervous with red, but now I am totally bold enough to pull it off in front of everyone.  Its such a hot and happening shade for every age group. It won’t add years to your face, instead would make you look hot.  I would say all shades may be good, but red and plum shades are a must have for everyone in this range!

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color – Who Wore it Red-er:

  • Beautiful berry red shade, tending to be bluish pink.
  • Imparts glossy, juicy, red pigmentation on the lips.
  • Makes lips really soft and smooth as long as it stays on the lips.
  • It’s a really subtle and wearable red shade with no shimmer.
  • It does not contain any heavy oil or waxes.
  • Keeps lips ultimately hydrated and juicy even after rinsing it off.
  • Classy eye pleasing packaging which is travel friendly.
  • Very mild fragrance.

Cons of Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color – Who Wore it Red-er:

  • Availability.
  • Transfers a lot.

Leaving apart the cons, its a perfect pick for every age and skin tone I feel; however, many of you may relate your experience to that of L’Oreal lip balms except for the pigmentation and fragrance. These are highly pigmented, yet mildly scented unlike the L’Oreal lip glosses.
