Maybelline Colorplush Silk Eyeshadow in Sapphire Siren 20 – Review, Swatches

Today I shall be reviewing the product very close to my heart, – Maybelline colorplush silk eyeshadow in Sapphire Siren 20, from Maybelline Eyestudio. This range has not yet been launched in India, although a similar range from Maybelline has been introduced a few days ago. Rati reveiwed it here. But it is not actually the Colorplush Silk range. I came to know about this range from the Maybelline website. Well, some of my seniors in college are pursuing PhD in USA. I asked one of them to buy it for me. Her name is Somdutta. I know she will never visit a makeup blog in her life. But I want to say her thanks once again through IMBB. 🙂

About the Product

The product is from Maybelline’s Eyestudio range. The shade is called Sapphire Siren 20. It has four shades – white, teal, midnight blue and black. All of the shades are shimmery. The black one has beautiful glitter particles in it.

The quad comes with an applicator which is pretty nice and looks different from other applicators.

Swatches

The white one is meant for highlighting. It can also be used as the base. I don’t use it as base bcoz it’s too glittery which I’m not comfortable with. The midnight blue shade looks beautiful on eyes. The black one is not intense black; it has small shimmer particles which looks great for nighttime. But it is not too glittery to make you uncomfortable. The teal one is the least pigmented of all, but it’s good enough to show on your eyes.

This is how it looks in the daylight.

Pros of Maybelline Colorplush Silk Eyeshadow

1. The shades are beautiful.
2. Staying power is good if applied with a proper base.
3. Opthalmologically tested.
4. Affordable.
5. The free applicator is good in quality.
6. Not too shimmery.
7. Does not fall off (except the white shade).
8. Pigmented enough.
9. Packaging is qute good and sturdy.
10. This range has a wide variety of shades. So, you shall definitely find one of your own choices.  My personal favourites are irresistible ivy, purple icon, give me gold and green with envy. I like how they name their shades. So cute!

Cons of Maybelline Colorplush Silk Eyeshadow

1. It is NOT available in India. 🙁 🙁 🙁 I don’t know why they don’t launch the good products in India. A lot of good stuffs from Maybelline are unavailable here. The Eyestudio Diamond glow range has been launched in India some days ago. But the shades are neither very pigmented nor look good on people with dusky complexion like us.

2. They did not mention the expiry date on the pack.

And this is how Sapphire Siren looks on me. I am not an expert in eyeshadow application, but I try.

final look

Shall I buy it again?
I shall very much like to. But I have to request my senior again to bring me another one.

My rating: 4/5, I deducted one point only because of its unavailability in India. But it is widely available in US.

Take care.
