Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick – Summer Pink Review

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick – Summer Pink Review

By Sumera

As far as I am concerned, I reach out towards pink lipsticks twice as often as a coral one in my day-to-day routine, but finding the right pink that not only looks appealing on the wrist switch at the cosmetic counter but rather enlightens your face with its pink appeal on lips, is not an easy job. Many pinks look pretty in swatches, but don’t show the same color pay off on the lips.  I wanted to add some more pinks to my stash before moving to another city than my native place due to my posting, so I went to the biggest cosmetic mall, ended up finalizing 3 pinks out of which the Diana of London shade was the most adorable, but couldn’t get it because the SA was not available and I regret losing it), Max Factor was beyond my range and the last one which I bought, Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Color needs no introduction to the beauty bees.

My Experience with Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick – Summer Pink:

Packaging: Pink Summer belongs to the pink family of Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Color range, hence comes with a dark pink translucent cap. No doubt the packaging is very attractive and it was one of the deciding factors for me to take the lipstick. The lipstick bullet is enclosed in a slender silver tube, which itself looks classy. Overall, the packaging is pretty, sturdy and travel friendly.

Texture:  The texture of the lipstick is creamy and glides very easily. One swipe of lipstick delivers 60-70% of color, with decent opacity which can be further built up with the second swipe. It isn’t terribly moisturizing but isn’t drying as well, something in between that. It doesn’t turns out to be flaky after a few hours and doesn’t settle into fine lines as well. The color doesn’t bleed and essentially doesn’t require a lip liner even. It has a very mild vanilla fragrance that doesn’t last after application. The best part, the lipstick is lightweight and non-sticky on application.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick - Summer Pink 4

Color:  Pink Summer is a perfect rose petal pink, with frosty look, luminous silver sheen due to fine shimmer and satiny feel. I was not intending to buy a shimmer shade, but it looks so good on my lips that I have no regrets buying it. The color pigmentation is good. It has decent color pay off, decent opacity and a pretty shade to add in your stash. It will suit all skin tones, I am sure about that.

Lasting Power:  Pink Summer lasts for about 4 hours approximately with little eating and drinking. It leaves behind shimmer particles and a satin finish when fades. It is not flaky, so touch ups make up the fading; however, when applied initially, it transfers to cups and spoons (like many others do).

Will I Repurchase Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick – Summer Pink?

I think this one will last me long, but I like the formula, so I am going to look for some more shades in the range.  I have medium to fair complexion.

    1. Thank you Dhara, and i wish maybelline was officially launched here so we could get the stuff in a bit lower prices, they are too costly here, and we have just two food quality local brands here.
