Today, I am going to review Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in the shade “Splendor Plum.”  I got this lipstick for my mom because she loves the texture of Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipsticks.  I have used this lipstick and thought I will review it.

My Take on Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Splendor Plum:

Splendor Plum is a pretty shimmery purple plum color.  This color would suit all skin tones and I personally love this color because it is a combination of maroon and purple. This color can be worn both at day times and in parties. The finish is glossy. Shimmer in the color doesn’t look over the top.

It comes encased in a red case with silver band. The case isn’t pretty, but does its job well of protecting the lipstick. It doesn’t open accidentally in the handbag. The shade name is written at the bottom. There’s no way to differentiate if you own more than one lipsticks from this range.

Moisture Extreme lipstick glides on my lips like no other lip product. It is buttery soft and glides effortlessly on the lips. It is very creamy and moisturising.  There is no need to apply lip balm beneath.  It even has SPF 15.  It doesn’t settle in fine lines.  It isn’t sticky. Shimmer in the lipstick is not at all gritty and the lipstick feels very light on the lips.

A single swipe gives an intense color, hence it is very much pigmented. If layered, it has a tendency to transfer. I am not impressed with the staying power. It stays on my lips for 2-3 hours and doesn’t survive a heavy meal. The lipstick has a faint and pleasant fragrance.

• Staying power is less.
• Packaging should be improved.
• Transferable.
• There might be a problem in locating the shades if you own more than one “Moisture Extreme” lipstick.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Splendor Plum?

Yes, if you can work with the poor staying power, you should definitely try this because of its creamy, moisturising and glossy texture and because of its price.  If you like dark colors and are a fan of plums, you should check this out.
