Hi everybody!

Just yesterday I read the review of Maybelline Color Show eye liner in the shade Shiny Beige on IMBB, and was so excited about trying it, that I bought it this very morning 😀 The shade I bought is Violet and it is totally gorgeous!! It’s more like an ocean blue shade. This is nothing like the other blue liners I had used earlier; because this a totally new and different shade. Plus it has a bit of shimmer in it. So I instantly decided I was getting this.

How Maybelline describes Color Show liner:

• What is it? -High intensity now in a liner! Brighter and bolder colours in an eye liner.

• High crystalline wax: keeps the colors from fading and keeps the liner smudge-proof and long lasting.

My experience with Maybelline Color Show Eye Liner:

Starting with the packaging, it’s very girly and chic, plus I absolutely love the style in which ‘Color Show’ is written on it (I’m referring to the font). The blue cap is sleek and makes the packaging look stylish. Also, the cap closes real tight, so it’s got a nice and secure packaging. Also, It’s travel friendly.Coming to the crayon, I felt the texture could have been a little creamier. The crayon is a little hard but delicate at the same time. One of the testers that I swatched at my hand at the Maybelline counter had a broken crayon inside, so I’m fearing mine would also break. Apart from that, everything’s just fine. The colour payoff is really awesome; just one swipe and you’re good to go.

 

I used the crayon like a kohl and an eye liner. Though I don’t apply anything on the waterline, I did apply this crayon just below the waterline. But it looked better as an eyeliner and not a kohl. (see the eye-swatch below..Though my eye looks a little disco-ish, LOL) Talking about the staying power, I applied this eye crayon for the first time today but not for a very long duration, just maybe 4-5 hours. But during that time it didn’t smudge one bit. I did use a wet wipe once on my face and to my surprise; it did nothing to my eye makeup. So that’s another quality. It also has a little shimmer in it, which I have no problem with. Just that I felt the colour didn’t go too well with my eye colour. That’s the only (and probably the biggest drawback I found about this product)

 

Pros of Maybelline Color Show Eye Crayon- Violet:

• Smudge-proof
• Waterproof
• Amazing staying power; about 7-8 hours
• Great color payoff
• Inexpensive
• Gorgeous ocean blue colour

 

Cons of Maybelline Color Show Eye Crayon- Violet

• Texture could have been better
• The crayon is very delicate; easily breakable
• This particular shade didn’t suit my eye colour as much as I’d hoped it would.
• Some people may not like the shimmer in it.

Will I repurchase Maybelline Color Show Eye Line crayon?

Definitely I will! But maybe not this colour.

Do I recommend repurchase Maybelline Color Show Eye Line crayon?

Yes! It’s a great eye liner and you should definitely try it out once (or maybe more times, if you like it 😀 )
