Maybelline colossal kajal review
Today I would be reviewing the much talked about Maybelline colossal Kajal . I was so excited about the kajal when I read about it on IMBB and I went completely loco over it and wanted it 😀 , I couldn’t get it because the shops near my house did not have it ☹ so I went to kamla naagr to get it and I got it today .The first thing I did after getting it was to click the pictures and review it 😀 . so here it goes .The kajal comes in a very eye catching packet which seems like the wonder woman makeup launched by MAC 😀 ( sort off) , I like the way the ‘J’ of the kajal is written 😛
The first thing I do in every products that I apply is , look for the ingredients and I did not find them in this :/ . I am a bit worried about that , eyes are a crucial area and I would like to know what is in it 🙂 .
The price is good .
I am assuming the price is lesser then the other Maybelline products in India is because its made in China ( as you can see in the picture)
This is what the kajal looks like outside its packaging , pretty yellow. 🙂
The product is nicely packed inside with a bit of tip , you can make out with this picture how dark it is in reality but I think all the kajals look this dark .This kajal seems darker because its packed with yellow color , I compared this with the Maybelline unstoppable that I have and they seemed equally dark to me.
You get this much product in the twist up packaging , its prity much the same length as the cap
This is the swatch of the product from left to right ( rubbed it once , twice and three times)
The kajal does say that it is will not smudge but I tried to take it off without any cleanser and it did come of .( from the first pic I tried rubbing my finger 3 times and it came off , the second pic I rubbed 6 times and the third pic I rubbed hard 3 times ) . I just wanted to see the actual staying power of the kajal on the skin , this rubbing will not happen with your eyes :p so don’t worry the kajal wont smudge , I don’t think you will be rubbing it like that in your eyes :p
I applied the kajal and I will be honest I was not wooed by the color. Maybe I was expecting more from it , it looked like the usual kajal to me . it does glide very easy ☺ and I know they say no smudge but if you are really quick 😀 you can smudge it the time you apply it but you have to be quick like a ninja 😀 because itll sit in 2 mints 😀

Pros – The price, cute packaging, does not smudge ( on eyes, :p, it does its job , we won’t apply it on our hands and try to smudge it on a daily basis :p eyes are different).
Cons – No ingredients list :/ that’s all . 🙂
Would I purchase it again – hell yea !! because the price is great and it stays on my eyes 😀 , but ill try not to use it so much because I don’t know what’s in it .
If you have used this product do tell me about your experiences: p and didyo u try to battle with it with trying to smudge it on your hand 😀

not logn enough for me 🙁 lasted the same time my maybelline unstoppable does and it creased 🙁 i wore it the whole day

seems good for daily wear.. Same question – how long did it last? Have u tried colorbar kajal.. Its a dark dark black.. Does not smudge… But does not stay on my eyes for more than 3 hours.. Costs around rs 90..
i wore it today for the second time and it smudged like my usual kajal :/ i am a bit disappointed because if the say it doesn’t smudge then it shouldn’t simple but maybe its my eyes :/

hey Komal…even i got it like 2-3 days back and im loving it…for me its black enuff (as black as the loreal gel liner) and it does last quite long…(more than 6hrs for me)
so yeah i would buy it again 🙂

i bought this kajal 2day just some time back alongwith the colossal mascara…i’m unhappy that the mascara does not come sealed…. or did i get duped??

Shreya it should have been sealed. i suggest that you take it back.
I have never seen Maybelline Mascaras sealed… So I always pick my tube from the cardboard box myself… Some mental peace for me… 😐 😐 😐 😐

It will !!! i think its also because i have deep set and small eyes 😛 ti wont crease like shenaz hussain ka kajal :p it will stay but not more then 4 hours 🙂 , i applied mine at 8.30 in morning and by 12 , it was uhm a bit 😛 you know , i feel so bad destroying all of your dreams 🙁 but just as rati said ;150 rupee main what do you want more 😀 . 150 key hisaab sey its amazing , i was just worried about ingredients because the natural kajals always crease and smudge because of the natural ingredients in it and if this says that it will not crease and stuff then maybe they have more chemicals involved you know :/

Bt the only thing is that the ingrdient list is missing.. When we use it, we dont know what is it made up of ?:) .. To be very frank, i tried rubbing it off my eyes, but surprisingly it dint go away fast like i had to use a makeup remover to remove it off..
it doesnt even smudge off quickly… :thumbsup:

I just ordered for one online and thats when I saw this review.. Sheesh. I dnt want it to smudge.. Reason No.1 why I planned to buy.. I’ve always used Mac.. tired of tearing my pockets.. LOL.. Tot I’ll try this if it doesn really smudge bcoz i have dark circles and it looks all the more worse when it smudges.. Did I just make another mistake?

I bought it the second time and I am quite happy with it as it doesnt smudge and stays longer than 6hours. But the problem is last one inch of the kajal breaks very easily and quicly and it lasted me for 2 months so its good enuf for 150 bucks
Hey der! dis kajal s a good one compared to other kajals in the market..the price is reasonable.gives a bold strike but it does stay for more than 4 hours or so! maybelline’s gel eye liner (eye studio-lasting drama) is amazing…it does stay until i use the cleanser to wipe it off..i use it on the water line and below the water line as well.. It does stay for long without getting smudged.//great product. Priced at Rs.375. Worth the money i paid….

Hi Komal, I got my colossal kajal yesterday. Its not working well on my eyes… May be due to much water on water-line 😀 or may be winter season does affect its quality of application.
whatever be the reason but I have to apply this kajal 6-7 times to get a black color…doing this hurts my eyes. Can u suggest me the easier way to apply?

I absolutely love this kajal! I got one today because I broke my estee lauder pencil by sitting on it :waaa: :waaa: and what should i say? it’s FAB! I wasn’t sure which one to buy but then I went ahead and got this one and I’m gonna go and get another one tomorrow to keep in my college bag 😉
It stays on for long w/o primer. Almost all eye pencils smudge giving me raccoon eyes, but this one didnt! :yahoo: Even my friends told me that today for once, my kajal didn’t smudge :pompom:

I am using this product since 2 years now n its simply the best.. it doesn’t smudge at all (at least for minimum of 6hours as they have mentioned) & it doesn’t come off easily either. After 6hrs it tends to smudge only at d corner of the eyes but the entire line remains perfect.. it doesn’t get messy even in the rains. i simply love this kajal because it doesn’t smudge, really dark & definitely worth the cost.. It doesn’t spread much even if i use my hands (i have this habit of constantly nagging my eyes & so its another reason here that i love it) and to remove it i use a little moisturiser on cotton n then only it goes.. And i think i will continue to buy this itself.. 🙂

I don’t know about others, but for me, this kajal works wonders. It doesn’t smudge at all… it stays perfectly well even on the waterline of my lower lid (I sweat a lot and have oily skin, yet it doesn’t smudge 😀 ). And I feel their promise of 12 smudge-free hours is very true (for me it stays the entire day even after I have splashed water on my face several times).
