Cushion foundation trend has caught up crazily and it can be seen everywhere now. Here in India, a few foundations are already available from different brands like Maybelline, The Face Shop, and Innisfree but they all comes with high price tag and I personally don’t like their shade range. Maybelline recently launched their Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation and this time, I opted for it. I absolutely love this product. Read on for more details:

My Experience with Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation On-the-Go:

Packaging:  This dream cushion foundation comes in a nice round beige container with a white lid. Inside the container, it has a big nice mirror which I really like. This packaging is very nice and it’s a compact one. It comes with its own round sponge puff which works perfectly to dab the product on face and doesn’t soak a lot of foundation. Then, it has a second lid-cum-puff tray cover. Overall, it is very lightweight packaging and I can carry it easily around in my handbag.

Coming to the applicator, it works pretty well to apply the foundation on the face. Its smooth and soft texture imparts a flawless application and picks up the right amount of the product. I just need a few minutes to apply it all over my face.

Shade and Coverage:  This cushion foundation offers 6 shades which are really good and I was able to find a dark shade in this range. I picked “Sun Beige” and it is a nice warm orange-tone, sun-kissed beige color that is perfect for tanned skin tone. This orange tone really helps to cancel out the redness, purple tone and also hides dark circles nicely. This shade is nicely pigmented and offers medium buildable coverage that hides imperfections on my face well.

To begin with, I have good skin, so this one works as a full-coverage for me and covers up my spots and dark circles nicely as well. It evens out my skin and also hides pigmentation. If you have very dark under-eye area and dark spots. then you need to follow up with a concealer to achieve perfect full coverage.

With this foundation, I can also build up the coverage by layering it up. Otherwise, it is just perfect to use everyday. Though it is the darkest shade and I have medium tanned complexion, I feel that Indian skin tones can manage this particular shade.

Texture and Quality:  Like all cushion foundation, this product has a nice soft sponge base with some tiny holes in it. This sponge contains liquid foundation which easily comes out with a little pressure. The foundation has a thin, liquid consistency that blends effortlessly on skin. It is a lightweight formula that feels very comfortable on the skin and doesn’t look patchy at all. It also doesn’t leave any white cast on face and perfectly blends into my skin.

I really like this formula, it provides a flawless finish on the skin. It actually gives a soft, smooth, and dewy finish that looks exactly like my second skin. I personally like this dewy look but unfortunately I have oily skin, so I need to set it with a compact powder, otherwise my face feels greasy after a few hours, but with a compact powder, my face doesn’t get oily.

Also, it provides good hydration and keeps skin soft throughout the day. If you have dry skin, then you will also love it. It never highlights dry patches. It adds a pretty healthy glow to the skin and I love it because of the seamless, natural-looking finish that I get. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or creases and suits my sensitive skin perfectly. My skin appears smooth, even, and fresh. It has SPF 20 which protects my skin from sun, but definitely, it is not enough for Indian summers.

Staying Power:  It lasts well for over 7 hours without oxidizing. It doesn’t look cakey and also stays nicely in place. As I have oily skin, my T-zone looks shiny after 4 hours but this is pretty common with all makeup that I use. Still, it never makes me super oily; I can easily blot the shine. It doesn’t transfer to my handkerchief, not on to my mobile either. It seems like a waterproof product to me.

Overall, I am super impressed with this cushion foundation and it has become my favorite product. I love everything about it. Now, if I compare the price with other cushion foundations in India, then it is the cheapest one and has the perfect formula. I also have Super BB Cushion from Maybelline and if I compare both, then this cushion foundation is better. This one provides better coverage, better formula, better shade range and lasts long than BB cushion and keeps skin oily free as well.

Here in these images, I have created a fresh day makeup look without any concealer and it gave me that perfect natural look. The first one is only with the foundation and the second one is my final look with compact and blush.

Cons of Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation On-the-Go:

• Couldn’t find any huge cons except that I need to use a compact powder to avoid shine.
