Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector Review

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector Review

Hello All Beauties!

My review today is about two shades of BB cream of the same brand.  The concept of BB cream is not new to people now. There are number of cosmetic brands which are coming up with different shades and are claiming many benefits and therefore to find a right shade and the right result is itself a task.  So, with this confusion, I resorted to my all-time trusted brand Maybelline.  This brand’s products suit my skin, so I bought 2 out of the 5 shades of Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream – Medium and Medium/Deep.  I was unsure about the shade as I have medium skin tone with combination skin type and I do have few acne marks on my face.

Shades:

  • Light.
  • Light/medium.
  • Medium.
  • Medium/deep.
  • Deep.

Keeping my skin tone and skin type in mind, I thought Maybelline Dream Fresh would be a better choice as the product claims:

  • Blurs imperfections.
  • Brightens.
  • Enhances.
  • Adjusts to skin-tone.
  • Smoothes.
  • Hydrates.
  • SPF 30 protects.
  • 0% oils and other heavy ingredients.

Price:

It costs $8.99 for 30 ml each, but I had a few coupons, so I got it for $6.99 each.

Packaging:

It’s a small squeezable plastic tube with a white colored cap.  Travel safe.

Ingredients:

Active: Titanium Dioxide 1.15%. Inactive: Water, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Octyldodecanol, Silica, Pentylene Glycol, Octyldodecyl Xyloside, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Isohexadecane, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 80, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract.

My Experience with Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector:

I applied the darker shade on the left side and lighter (i.e Medium Sheer tint) on the right side of my face.  At first, I noticed that the texture of the cream was very smooth, creamy and mildly scented. Initially, I could see the difference between both the cheeks but as I blend the lighter shade more, I saw that it blended with my skin completely. One more thing which I noticed was that the medium sheer tint has little pink undertone to it and medium/deep has yellow-orange undertone to it.

The medium sheer tint (lighter one) which was looking a little whitish on my skin initially blended amazingly with my skin tone after a couple of minutes, without looking cakey at all.  On the other hand, medium shade (i.e., darker one) also blended well. For better results, I mix both the shades and it works great for me.

I wore it for all day long, like 9-6, and it still looked good on my face. I got this dewy finish without looking shiny or greasy but my friend has an oily skin and she didn’t get the same result as mine, so now she uses little mineral powder to avoid that shiny look.

It has sheer coverage though if you have a lot of problem areas, then you should use concealer as it only blurs the imperfection, doesn’t hide it completely.

It is somewhere between makeup foundation and tinted cream, it is not heavy as foundation and not thin as tinted moisturizer. The SPF 30 in it makes it more wearable to use for summer day look as I don’t like to apply foundation in summer daytime.

I only thing which I didn’t like is the quantity of the product is very less for the price I paid. Still have to check the number of days it’s going to last.

When I mixed both the shades:

  2. Nice one yaa…very good indeed… *pompom* *pompom* but I am very happy with my Ponds BB+ cream as of now…once it is available in India, will def give it a try… *powder* *powder*

  3. Thanks for this review. I have it at home and honestly I don’t like it. I have a very fair skin and I used the medium color. I realized that it leaves my skin a bit shiny, and after a whole day, it kind of packs on some areas of my face (on the lines of my nose, on my chin…) and makes it look disastrous! I prefer mixing some SPF 50 suncream with a light foundation: it looks much better.

  4. maybelline bb cream gave me bad acne and i had to go to dermatologist.. *waiting* *headbang* i will not risk any other maybelline skin care product in my life *smack*
i love the colossal kajal and the lip care products from maybelline.. and use them regularly *jai ho*
