Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder Review

Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder Review

Hello Beauties,

I finally hit the pan on my Catrice Compact, so was looking for a decent everyday wear compact powder.  I had heard good reviews for Maybelline’s new “Dream Touch” range, so thought why not give it a try.

Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder Review

Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder comes in 4 shades out of which I got Beige (Medium 2-2.5). Out of all the shades, only this one has yellow undertones and the rest had pink undertones. I am not impressed with the shades in this range. They should definitely have more shades with yellow undertones.

Product Description:

An oil-free formula which is jet-milled into ultra-fine particles for an air-soft, ultra-silky texture. The suede-touch puff smoothes onto skin evenly, effortlessly, for the most beautiful matte perfection.

Dream Matte Pressed Powder

I was really impressed with the packaging of this powder.  It comes in a cream-coloured compact packaging with a transparent lid on the top. There is a bottom compartment which stores the powder puff and has a mirror for easy touch-ups during the day time. To open the bottom compartment, you need to push it towards the out and it opens up easily. Also, it closes with a click, so overall its travel friendly and sturdy! The puff too is of good quality and wonderful for day time touch-ups.

My Experience with Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder:

Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder costs Rs. 475 for 9 gm of products. The powder is extremely finely milled and pressed together. It has soft and silky texture which blends like a dream. It does not give much coverage, but is perfect if you don’t want to use foundation and just want to give your skin a fresh and polished look.  If you have a lot of blemishes and acne, this will not cover them at all.

Dream Matte Pressed Powder

It does mattify the skin beautifully and controls the oil for 2 to 3 hours easily after which you would need to do a few touch-ups.  Its completely unscented which I love as I absolutely hate scents in my face products.  The powder goes on light over the skin and will not make you appear cakey or ghastly. It does brighten up the face and even out the skin tone to some extent. If you have a lot of hyperpigmentation or brown spots, this will not cover it completely.

Dream Matte Pressed Powder

Overall, its a decent product and I would definitely recommend this to all combination skin beauties. For extremely oily-skinned girls, this may not provide proper oil control.

  1. This look quite similar to loreal one… Im still lil bit confused because mine is oily skin and what i looked in pressed powder is better oil control and u mentioned this point is cons….!!!
    Nice Review 🙂

          1. Vini I have very oily skin and I used it for a while from my cousin’s stash when I visited her…better stay away from this if you are oily skinned…it fared pretty badly in controlling oil for me. As Parita rightly said, stay with Studio Fix, its the best!

  2. I recently skipped this coz of the price, being a college student this is quite expensive! But i bought the maybelline clear glow compact thats great too:-) but i really want to try this one soon!! Great review 🙂

  3. I have always been tempted to try this powder but i have dry skin so never did. Wish they come witha regular versions as well. i love the packaging. lovely review parita. 🙂
