My Take on Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder :

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder has got an extra appealing name. Dream and powder are such powerful marketing terms for a beauty product in my opinion. So this appeal to me twice as strong, I got to grab one. It comes in 16 shades as per Maybelline website but at the store, I remember I only chose from 8 shades. Then I got the shade 70 Natural Shade and I am glad it’s my matched. By the way, I am a MAC SFF NC25-30 matched.

This Dream Wonder Powder from Maybelline comes in a simple, round compact casing with a transparent lid where you can see the powder product from the outside. Underneath the powder pan is a good sized mirror and useful sponge. Each pan has 0.19 oz or 5.5 grams of product in it.

I tried wearing this Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder alone and it has light coverage and has a matte finish. It looks sheer and natural on skin but it is really good at minimizing my pores, counter redness on my face and making it look even tone. On most part of my face, my skin is definitely better looking with this powder than bare. However, I do find this emphasizing my dry areas a bit. The product in my opinion is not as powder as other face powders I tried but still it is powdery but it has creaminess to it. Though this one emphasizes dry areas on my face, I can say that it is less compared to other powders I tried, count to that the Clear Smooth Foundation. This is a tad better.

Worn alone, this lasts 3 to 4 hours on me which is an average for face powders I tried so far. This powder is good at prolonging the wear time of my liquid foundations and very much my pick for touch ups. It does give my skin a fresh look.

What I Don’t Like- Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder :

– Emphasized my dry areas and flaking skin.
– Powdery still.
– Average wear time.

Final Thoughts:I can say that this powder is a good one and that it performs better than other Maybelline powders I tried in the past. It is not perfect at better than most I’ve used. However, I am still on the lookout for something more apt for dry skin.

  1. Thats a nice review…..but shud one use such powders during winters? I mean …it must be really cold in Canada at the moment? I am asking coz I have a foundation powder reserved for summers…can that be used in winters?
and big congratulations on your new house….!!!

    1. Hi Anuradha, as much as possible I try to skip powder foundation during winter but the heater in some establishements, in my work place and in my previous apartment still makes me oil up. I usually use powder on my T-zone and for touch ups. *thankyou* *thankyou*
