Maybelline Expertwear Eyeshadow Trio – Ivy League
By Neha Duggal
Hi gorgeous ladies,
I am not much into eye makeup, in fact I love to have a huge collection of various lipsticks. Even on special occasions a subtle shade of eye shadow, teamed up with a swipe of kajal and a lipstick and I am all set to go. Being a lipstick addict I have a number of lipsticks but hardly 2-3 eye shadow palletes. But today’s review is about an eye shadow from Maybelline’s expert wear range. This one again is a gift from my cousin from Australia. Read further to know that how it worked for me.
Shelf Life:-2 years.
Price: – 7.65 AUD
Packaging: –
The packaging is nothing different from other eye shadow trios of this rage. In fact it is quite flimsy one and not travel friendly. While carrying it in your purse you will have to fix it with some sticky strip so that it does not open on its own. There is one eye shadow applicators provided with this one but I don’t find it of any use. On the backside of the pallets, the instruction are given for achieving various looks according to your requirement.
My experience with Maybelline Expertwear Eyeshadow Trio – Ivy League :
I have never experimented with those fascinating eye make-up looks as I don’t have the courage to carry such bold looks but I love it on others. Ivy league is a trio that consists of two lovely shades of green and a neutral peachy beige. Both the green shades are adorable and I guess the neutral one can be used to tone down the impact of the darker shades. The colour pallete\ is appropriate for people like me who hesitate while experimenting with bold colours and prefer to apply lighter shades.
The shades are shimmery ones and blend nicely. I think these are appropriate for the day time events or functions. However these cause huge fall outs so I used wet brush for the application. However the fallout can be managed. The eye shadow comes out of the pan easily and pigmentation is good enough. I have dry eyelids and I wore it in my office without any primer. Surprisingly it stayed on me for 4 to 5 hours without any touch ups (we hardly get time for touch ups in our office.) If used with a good base or foundation it can stay longer.I used the lightest shade as a base and it worked well. If used alone, it won’t be able to give that long stay impact.
Pros of Maybelline expert wear eye shadow trio-Ivy League
• Good staying power
• Nicely pigmented
• Smooth texture.
• Easily blendable
Cons of Maybelline expert wear eye shadow trio-Ivy League
• Huge fallout
• Flimsy packaging
• Brushes provided are of no use.
Do I recommend Maybelline expertwear shadow?
Yes for sure and I will definitely buy another shades from this range.
