Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polishes Review and Swatches

This post has been long pending, I showed you the haul way back, but it took me some time to put it all together.  Today, I will be showing you the Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polishes and their respective swatches.  I am still not sure about how many colours there are in this particular range.  Every place that I went and checked, they did not have the full stock and the availability was limited online too.  The most amusing thing about these range of nail polishes is that the price of the nail paints vary from shade to shade.  Some nail polishes are available at Rs. 175, while certain darker shades are priced at Rs.185 or Rs. 200, I am confused as to why they should stick different price tags for different colors!

Nail Polish

Product Description:

Maybelline Express Finish nail color is with quick-dry, anti-chip formula and vivid color. Its unique Control-Flow brush applies only the required amount of nail color for a smooth and even application.

With one sweep, paint the first line of nail polish up the center of your nail starting from the base to the tip. For the cleanest look, be sure to leave a small space at the base of the nail.

Nail Paints

Then apply color to the rest of the nail with additional sweeps of polish on each side of the original line. Let your nails dry before applying a second coat.

Price:

Anywhere from Rs. 157 to Rs. 200 (price varies from shade to shade).

I got to pick the following colors from Maybelline Express Finish Range:

  • Red Flash.
  • Pearly Pink.
  • Red Seduction.
  • White Cloud.
  • Chocolate Frost.
  • Sweet Rose.
  • Cherry.
  • Pearly Pastel.
  • Fuschia.
  • Brassy.
  • Fuschia Diamonds.

I am still conscious of my short nails and no amount of manicuring and pampering is making them grow to a decent size.  My cute friend “Pranati” has helped me with the NOTDs, as in the hands that you see in the NOTDs are hers and not mine.  I could quickly finish swatching the whole lot of nail polishes with her help 🙂 Thanks a lot Pranati!!

  1. nice collection… Perl finish colors are my favorite, but if your hand shakes very much then prefer long stick brush for applying nail paint.. for that i would suggest ‘lotus color dew’ , it really gives good finishing.

  2. Thanks alot Jomol di for these swatches. just yesterday i was thinking that i need to get some good new nail paints. Now i can choose from these paints. 🙂

  3. Hey very nice NOTD..

all colours are really nice i like red & fuchsia most..

you have mole on your both palms???

          1. The Mole on your palms indicate that the person is wise, intelligent, Independent, famous (in many ways not need to be a celebrity) & they can fulfill his/her all luxurious needs (means sufficient money)..

    1. Pallavi, Cherry is my favouritest amongst the dark colours. It looks dark in the bottle, but comes out a lovely shade on the nails 🙂

  4. Wow!! Jomol awesome 🙂 liked almost all the colors.. good pics, how long it took for you to apply.. remove.. and apply 🙂

Trust me Every time when i think “when will jomol post the nail paints post” na, the very next day you are posting :P, last night around 11 pm i was thinking and today you posted 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Shami, since I had applied it on my friend’s hands, it didn’t take much time. I would apply and click pics and she would remove it off. If I had sat down to do it on myself, it would have taken a hell of lot of time. He he, Shami, please think about me frequently, I am so lazy, that I keep things pending…..hope this helps 🙂

  5. Wow..Wow..Wow.. Somebody is into Nail paints..Jomoleh how many nail polishes do u own now??
I mean so many wonderful colors and all suits u so well.. Great *thumbs up*

    1. Saranya…..he he….I haven’t counted, I think around 200 nail polishes :shy: but those aren’t my hands Saranya, its easy for me to show NOTDs on others…..:)

  6. I like almost all the colours, but cherry, chocolet frost and red seduction are so much of my type of colours 🙂
How is the staying power jomol??

    1. Sweta, Cherry is a gorgeous color, but the staying power is average, 2 days with two coats, if you do not do any house work, otherwise, just one day. I have not mentioned staying power in the post because its not that great 🙁

  7. Jomol..i like the pastels and brassy… 🙂
And I believe you teach colors to ur sonnie with these nail paints..lol

    1. Rama……….really, not only have I taught my son the basic colours like green, red, blue, yellow, I have taught him Peach, aqua blue and such colours….its fun……:)

  8. I have chocolate frost and love the shade…but I feel this range from maybelline is not worth the price…body lotions stick to the nail paint, and then dust too, making the hands and feet look muddy…. the 99 wala nail-paints are better quality… just a personal opinion, though:)

    1. Ritu…..I am liking nail paints from both the ranges. Actually, I feel this range has gloss and a few different shades that are missing in Colorama. For example, Brassy, Pearly Pink, and Fuschia pink are such pretty colors that you won’t get in Colorama.

  9. I too like the COlorama ones better, it has better shades but this post has left me with a few in my wish list 🙂

    1. Ila, I have almost all shades from Colorama and this Extreme too. Both are good, but I feel Extreme ones have certain unique shades that cannot be found in Colorama, but staying power and quality wise, I think there is not much a difference, just the shades I feel are not in Colorama 🙂

    1. Hi Deepa……Pearly Pink, Fuschia Diamonds, Cherry, Red Flash will all suit medium skin tones. The only ones that I don’t think won’t look that good are Chocolate Frost and White Cloud 🙂

    1. TA…..everything looks good on my friend’s hands…. :)…..My favourite is Brassy, Cherry, and Fuschia Diamonds 🙂

  10. Hey Jomol,
Chocolate frost is my favorite. Since you own so many polishes, why don’t you try water marbling? It’s real easy and turns out pretty too 🙂

    1. Hi Christine,

Thanks for reminding. I had done water marbling earlier, but then, I think I can rock it with so many colors…..will try and show it here if it turns out good 🙂

  11. Although I don’t use Maybelline anymore.. I loved loved Fuschia, Chocolate frost, Red seduction.. wohoo.. and Jomoleee I am loving your long long fingers :*

    1. Dipti…yey fingers mere nahin hai….application mere hai….waise, why aren’t you using Maybelline now 🙂

      1. Maybelline tests on animals.. I am avoiding brands that test on animals.. that includes Loreal too.. I feel like buying so many products from Maybelline and Loreal as they have some real good stuff.. but as long as I find a replacement of those products I will avoid purchasing them 🙂

  12. I have fuschia from this range.. Colour is pretty but IMO the price is not just, the lakme fast drying ones are better at a lesser price. These tend to chip too soon.

    1. Leez, yes, price is not justified and I do not really understand the variation across shades, its strange na 🙂

  13. Wow these are lovely Jomol, the pics are super, and i’m loving all the reds, cherries and the fuchsia diamonds. 🙂 🙂

      1. Awwwwww Jomol, i know I’ve become really bad being out of touch for a while, shall mail you tonite positively. 🙂
