My Experience with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil – Soft Nude:
Packaging:
The liner comes in a standard white and brown paper packaging; this paper packaging carries the product description, claims etc. The actual liner comes in a gorgeous color-coded pencil with a clear cap. It is a sharpenable pencil but there is no sharpener provided with the pencil. Overall, the pencil looks nice and is quite easy to carry around.
Shade:
This shade ‘Soft Nude’ looks like a beautiful creamy white nude shade. It is neither a pure beige nude shade nor too white. It is just between these two shades and looks like a soft, creamy white shade to me. It also has a little shiny finish to it. This shade is perfect for the Indian skin tones and totally brightens up my eyes. I love to use such shades on my waterline to make my eyes appear bigger. I love this beautiful nude eyeliner. There is no noticeable shimmer in this shade yet it has a shiny finish, which I love. This is a pigmented shade and needs only one swipe for true colour pay off.
Texture and Quality:
This pencil has a super smooth and creamy texture which glides like a dream. This smooth and soft texture goes on amazingly well on the waterline without any tugging. I like this formula as it doesn’t dry out instantly. Also, it never looks dry or patchy. I like how this formula has never irritated my eyes. It gives a flawless, silky finish. It has a perfect, shiny, non-drying and velvety finish.
It is quite easy to draw lines on the waterline with this pencil as it does not create any mess. It is a waterproof liner, hence it works really well on the waterline and never looks faded. The formula is totally smudge-proof and transfer-proof, which means it can survive one whole day. Thankfully, this smudge-proof formula gets easily removed with an oil based remover.
Staying Power:
This ‘Lasting Drama’ name describes that it is a long lasting eye liner. And yes, it lasts super long and doesn’t look messy at all. I mostly wear this shade on my waterline, so it stays for around 6 hours perfectly. But it starts to fade after that time period. This staying power is great but their 16hr claim is not really true. I have watery eyes and this eyeliner stays pretty well. Honestly, the staying power varies from person to person but this eyeliner, by no means, can survive 16 hours.
Overall:
I really love this eyeliner! It is quite hard to find a good nude eyeliner in India and I am happy that Maybelline launched one at an affordable price.
