So today I have an interesting product which is quite popular in the US. We all know that the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation is super popular among most of the YouTube gurus, but I had a bad experience with it because it emphasized the dry patches too much on my skin. Nonetheless, this line also has a foundation for normal to dry skin. Even though I have oily skin, I wanted something that did not look too matte and flat on the skin, so I decided to purchase this product. Keep reading if you want to know my thoughts on this foundation.

Hydrates, smoothes skin texture and matches natural tone for a luminous, seamless finish.
For Normal to Dry Skin. SPF 18*
My Experience with Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth Foundation:
I picked up the colour Toffee (330) which is a little dark for my skin tone, but I got a little confused online. I want to start with the bad points first. The foundation oxidises a little on my skin after an hour of application. I did not use a primer because I wanted to see how long it will last without a primer. The fragrance or rather smell of this foundation is bad. I cannot bear it at all because it smells like drug store. It is just disappointing. Other than this, the foundation does not have SPF for the darker shades, which is unfair and the packaging doesn’t have any pump. Why do they do this?
I always have extra foundation for no reason and the product gets wasted. The good part is that the foundation is a gel based formula and glides plus blends out smoothly. It does crease if you do not set it with a translucent powder. It does give me that luminous glow throughout the day and stays for about 8 hours on my face without any touch-ups. It is a medium coverage foundation, so it does not cover up all my blemishes on the skin. You cannot build it up as it could look cakey if you take too much quantity.
The foundation is very runny which is weird because the matte one is a little thicker than this. The texture feels smooth on the skin and you have to be careful as there is no pump, so you could end up getting too much product. Anyway, the texture is great but the drug store type fragrance is killing it for me. I hate it so much!
The amazing part is that this foundation did not break me out, and it looks quite natural on the skin (even though the colour doesn’t go perfectly with my skin tone). Overall, I find this foundation okayish. It is good for people with dry skin and also those who want their foundation to last long without a primer.
Pros of Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth Foundation:
• Long staying power
• Easy to apply and blend
• Natural finish
• Gives a dewy look all day long
• Medium coverage
• Gel based formula
• Lighter shades have SPF 18
• Didn’t break me out
• Covers redness and small spots
• Gives a smooth look to the skin
Cons of Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth Foundation:
• Oxidizes a little
• Not buildable
• Could crease on oily skin
• No SPF in darker shades
• Contains parabens
• Annoying smell
• No pump
I am not a fan of this foundation, but I am still going to use it. I won’t repurchase this foundation because I want to try other foundations from the drug store.
